    Clevo N141CU ACPI / Battery

Unfortunately the Clevo N141CU and the Clevo NL40CU are entirely different machines, even if they are both using Comet Lake processors. Just looking at the ports on the left and right sides of the machine I can see that the motherboard will be completely different. To further add to this my...

    Clevo N141CU ACPI / Battery

So, I realised that my serials were in the original EFI zip (oops!) so I've taken them out and as per request, added all the kexts, even though they are identical to what can be downloaded on the internet. Attached...

    Clevo N141CU ACPI / Battery

Looking like the battery / ac adapter are the last things left not working on this laptop now. Oh, I've not tried the card reader, I always forget it's even there, but I've seen examples of people getting them working so I know what to try for that. I'm just clueless on this battery / ac situation.

Using OpenCore EFI on my Xiaomi Air 13" Skylake

This is how MacOS works. It sounds like you may need to watch some general tutorials about MacOS. By default, unless you set it otherwise it will hide the extensions, just like Windows does by default. If you want to see the extension you right click the file (or control click if you have an old...

<< Solved >> OpenCore battery patch

Apologies but I posted my battery issues in a separate thread: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/clevo-n141cu-acpi-battery.305443/ Don't suppose anyone would have a couple of minutes to point me in the right direction would they please? All the info should be in there... Either that or I can...

[Guide] Intel Framebuffer patching using WhateverGreen

Hi - I've got my HDMI working, but it takes 4 attempts before it connects (that's the laptop connecting, not me!). Is this common? I assume it's not normal. The laptop has eDP for internal, a Mini DP socket and an HDMI socket. The DP can be routed to either the mDP or the TB port in the BIOS -...

    Clevo N141CU ACPI / Battery

Hi all, I have installed Catalina 10.15.7 on the above. Currently it's running from a USB-C drive while I wait for a new SSD (shouldn't be relevent). Most stuff is working OK but I'm having a hard time with the battery and I think it's time I need to dig deep into ACPI. I've been through the...

    Stork's Gene Build > ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Z170 - i5-6600K - MSI Vega 56

Thank you - I have just been through again and the serial had changed and that had caused my account to lock!! Maybe that was a result of the BIOS updated and / or adding the wifi card? I have been through and unlocked it and iMessage is now logging in and working. Handoff / Continuity is still...

    Stork's Gene Build > ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Z170 - i5-6600K - MSI Vega 56

Thanks. Powernap is disabled. I'll check WOL. [EDIT] Actually, it's probably not! I just realised there are separate settings for battery and power. That might solve that one then. [EDIT 2] Ignore that. There is no battery section for the Gene - doh! I followed the guide. I don't see anything...

    Stork's Gene Build > ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Z170 - i5-6600K - MSI Vega 56

I have to say, after a week or so of working with this system I'm disappointed. I've done everything in this thread and so far: Power isn't working properly. Last night while working on my laptop I could hear this one clicking on and off from time to time. No idea what it was up to. I bought...

    Stork's Gene Build > ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Z170 - i5-6600K - MSI Vega 56

I actually appear to still have a problem. I think it's sleep state related but I'm not too sure. When the system reaches the point that the screen saver would kick in it goes really slowly and stutters, even if (like now) I have told the system to never use the screensaver. Within around 30...

[GTX 1060] No Signal Halfway Through Loading MacOS 10.12.4

Sure, my setup is basically the same as this one with an i7 instead of an i5 and 32GB of DDR4 instead of 16Gb of DDR4: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/storks-gene-build-asus-maximus-viii-gene-i5-6600k-gigabyte-gtx-950.181272/ My boot args are 'darkwake=0 dart=0' although I believe they are...

[GTX 1060] No Signal Halfway Through Loading MacOS 10.12.4

AGDPfix only alters the profile for MacPro6,1 and iMac 15/17 - not iMac 14,2 Strangely enough my problem seems to be solved simply by booting in verbose mode (add -v to boot flags). Not elegant but I can live with that. Nvidia just updated their web drivers. Don't know if that will help...

    Another black screen on GTX-1080

I haven't, no. Reason being that I'm not using one of the affected MacPro6,1 or iMac15/17 system definitions. However, that got me thinking that maybe (highly likely!) 2560x1080 is not a supported resolution for the internal screen of a 14,2 iMac. I wouldn't know as I've not owned an iMac since...

    Another black screen on GTX-1080

So, I've read a lot of posts about this but unless I'm wrong I don't think any specifically apply to my use case because of the system profilee i am using. I have a Gigabyte GTX-1080. I'm using the new Nvidia web drivers quite happily but on boot my screen goes to sleep due to no signal about...

    Stork's Gene Build > ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Z170 - i5-6600K - MSI Vega 56

Thanks for clarifying the NVRam situation. My CSM is already enabled. Using the CSM driver Clover is displaying in 2560x1080 nicely, it's just the ASUS screens that are huge. Not really a big deal, it's just one of those things that bugs me :)

    Stork's Gene Build > ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Z170 - i5-6600K - MSI Vega 56

Can I confirm if we do indeed need to add EmuVariableUefi-64 support for this motherboard? I have the problem with GTX-1080 sending my monitor to sleep at the Apple logo. The web drivers are loading fine, I just need to switch to a different monitor input and back again to make the monitor wake...

[GTX 1060] No Signal Halfway Through Loading MacOS 10.12.4

*BUMP* I was hoping that the issue might have been down to HDMI but I just installed the DP cable today and my problem is now repeatable. Every time I boot my monitor goes into standby. If I switch from one input to another and back again it wakes up fine. Is that the same problem you are having?
