OK - I solved my problem with the help of this thread.
I basically went step-by-step all the way through, but I jumped over the section of changing/validating the serial number. Reason being, I knew I had a valid serial number as Messages worked before. Here's the part that I *think* is what...
Similar issues here. What I'm finding is that iMessage on macOS is not syncing completely. So, if I'm having a conversation on my iPad, the message that syncs to macOS only shows my side of the conversation (excluding the other person). Also, group chat may only show the last statement of the...
Success!!
After several deep sleeps and confirming overnight, darkwake=0 solved the issue. I swear I tried this before without success, so I just wanted to list out the steps I took and my configuration to hopefully help others.
Setup: Using 2 displays through DVI connection
Clover...
Thanks for the replies all - glad that we're keeping the conversation going.
Best I can tell this is a driver issue on the Nvidia side, only because I was able to get different results using DVI cable (display won't turn on at all) and DisplayPort (display turns on, but completely black). I...
Hi there -
Hopefully the subject says it all. I had no issues with sleep in El Capitan, however immediately following the Sierra install the display won't wake after the system has gone into deeper sleep. The machine does turn on, however the displays never do.
I've walked through a bunch of...
I'm having similar issues here. I was occasionally able to boot after installing the web drivers again, but without fail it goes to a black screen and cursor after reboot.
Wondering if you've had any success?
Thanks for that reply. That tool was a lifesaver for my old MacBook Air, glad to see that it worked for you.
Well, as of 10.11.1, my Continuity/Handoff works fine. I have NO IDEA if it was caused by the 10.11.1 update, the fact that iOS came out with 9.1, or anything else!
For what...
Question for you - did the Continuity Activation tool come back with any information? Because when I ran it it said that Continuity was already active (no updates or changes made).
Same here, Michal. In fact, the Continuity Activation Tool revealed the same information - Continuity already activated, no steps needed.
Very strange indeed.
Thanks for the reply - that ****** article helped, although I have been through those processes a few different times and got iMessage working after having to call Apple and get my account unlocked.
Difference here is that Handoff/Continuity seems to be the only part not working - AirDrop...
Clean install did not help me - I'm using one of the "out of the box" Broadcom BCM94360CD - 802.11 A/B/G/N/AC + Bluetooth 4.0 with Adapter for PC/Hackintosh from OSXWIFI that worked flawlessly with Yosemite but has not worked with El Capitan.
All indications is that the card supports...
Wondering if you have upgraded to El Capitan yet - i have a similar board and BT/WiFi card and Continuity/Handoff is no longer working.
I've reached out to OSXWIFI to see if they can support, but just curious to know if yours was still working.
Thanks meymia - I should have mentioned I gave this a try, and it actually made it worse. I'm going to try different connections to the monitor to see if HDMI connection is the issue. It appears that many that have posted on this thread have not seen any issues, so it's clearly something on my...
Dual boot machine - I just compared my Lion version to the Windows version - and Windows CRUSHES it.
For some reason, the graphics look blurry in Lion and I can't seem to get a decent FPS read. I can't tell if it's that I'm using HDMI as the source in Lion, or if there is a missing setting...
Great find, John - I'll give this a shot to see if I can get close to what I need. I've noticed some instability between OS's, as in Win 7 would work but OSX would freeze, but maybe if I start here I can get past that.
Ugh. I was afraid of that. This is the one that's causing kernel panics and freezes for me, specifically when dealing with turbo boost. I realize that OC'ing is an applied science, so I'll go back and step through it one more time.
Thanks for the reply - you've been extremely helpful!
