USB 3.0 ext. drive keeps disconnecting

I'm having a similar issue. Try seeing if your BIOS has a high current option for USB 3.0. That might fix your issues.

High Sierra. Hdd's are no hot plug capable anymore.

This worked for me with the caveat that you copypasta this code into Clover Configurator text mode and not enter each field value into the Kext and Kernal pane like I did at first. Do a Command+F search to find the right spot and paste it inline. Make sure that you enable the hot swap and...

Sierra 10.12.6 hangs on Splash Screen [Requesting Help!]

Sounds like you need to replace Lilu.kext and IntelGraphicsFixup.kext in /System/Library/Extensions or /Library/Extensions. Download the latest versions from the downloads page. Delete the old versions first and then use Kext Beast to install the updated copies.

Thanks for your response, Spencer. Yes, my Mac is still on. Question: if I backup everything using Time Machine, will Time Machine back up my EFI partition as well. Say, I delete the newly created files and directories in / and run Time Machine, will that do? I was trying to avoid...

What do you think about these parts for a silent audio editing build?

Hi Ben, Looks like a great build you've got going. Noctua fans are exceptionally quiet and 2x 140mm should be plenty. You haven't said what CPU cooling unit you intend to use so I can only assume that you'll use the stock CPU fan, which is fine although I would highly recommend a Noctua CPU...

New build advice for Pro Audio! (:

Hi Joshua, All is not lost, you have a number of options. The prospect for fully functioning TB looks promising and if that's the case then you'll be able to use a TB --> FW400/FW800 adapter. There are also FW400/FW800 cards on the market but be sure to use one that has a TI chipset as this...
