    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

No one can say one way or another. Answers could legitimately start with "Maybe, if... " or "No, but..." ... Right now though, the rule of thumb seems to be "Make alternate plans".

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

I've been holding out for the drivers like everyone else... but after finding an old unused Quadro K4000 at work, I'm joining the "two cards" camp.. :/

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

I had a thought - feel free to sanity-check it - back in September, it was advertised that nVidia were looking for devs for macOS. As hiring processes are never fast, plus getting a new employee onboard, etc... considering I'm not sure what else they would be working on aside from drivers...

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

There's not, but because of the wording and so on, some thought/hoped there is... i'm just suggesting people rule it out conclusively so people stop asking about it.

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

Probably because no one looked into it deeply, along with the odd wording of the CUDA package.

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

Well, we don't know for sure. They may, they may not. Anyone willing to check? I don't have Sierra installed yet.

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

Don't take that as gospel though. There is a lot of conjecture in this thread, and not a lot of concrete evidence. Edit: Which reminds me - has anyone actually tested those new cuda drivers? to confirm they don't have the regular web drivers? I know it's unlikely but better to completely rule...

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

Every night I check the Graphics subforum, hoping we've had some good news... but... :/ We're getting off topic, but nothing about a hackintosh is plug and play. For that, you need a genuine mac.

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

If they were standard support, they're not going to be privvy to upper decision making. From all signs, the 9 series cards are fully capable, so it's not a simple driver that we're using now. Not to get people's hopes up, but I would take what the support person said with a grain of salt.

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

Oh I've been in a waiting state with everyone else for weeks. :)

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

So it's early and my brain is mush, but has anyone actually tested them with Pascal? I know Tony's stickied thread for those drivers claims they're 9 series and older only... or am I not picking up on sarcasm in posts above? :)

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

    1. It's a known issue with USB 3.1, other laptops from other makers have had issues. 2. He's using a cheap off-brand adapter. Technology standards are all well and good, but there's a lot of leeway for shoddy quality.

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

Guys, look, I know everyone's impatient, but I think I've fixed the problem. Y'see, I've had my PC on the desk with a GTX 960, waiting for Pascal drivers so I can slot my 1070 in there and put the whole thing back in the alcove under my desk. Since it's a pain to do that though, I've had it on...

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

I contacted nVidia live support chat tonight - they said they couldn't release dates or information about future releases. That's just standard consumer support, so YMMV.
