Here I am / Here it goes

Before I say anything else, to the OP, there is but one thing I can say. Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace! Okay now that I got that out of my system. :P You should try getting a hacked up PowerMac G5 case. ;) Or a Lian Li case. They have a lot of pretty aluminum ones that are pretty nice, and very...

Hackintosh build. Cheap yet reliable and upgradable.

I have a Thinkpad T61 that I got OS X running on, and it's older yet.. kinda similar to this Intel board. I haven't used a custom DSDT and the only thing that doesn't work is my external mic port.. seriously, what could cause some of those issues you say people have? I haven't even touched my...

Hackintosh build. Cheap yet reliable and upgradable.

Ah, lol. What do you mean hard life? Things like case buttons and stuff won't work? As long as y ethernet and USB ports work, I'm fine. And my PS/2 port, for my old Model M that will be hooked to this beast. And sound obviously, I need that, but all I really care about is green (output) and...

Mac OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" Developer Build Announced

Why are so many people complaining about their old Macs being shut out? You're on a Hackintosh forum. You're talking about getting Mac OS X running on unsupported hardware. READ THAT LAST SENTENCE AGAIN. Seriously, if you learned anything from installing OS X on your hackintosh, it's that OS...

    About System definitions

I'm not sure of how easy this is, actually. I know in the old days.. it would've been as simple as bringing out ResEdit.. but OS X has changed that, obviously. I'd like to do this too, and make it call my system Thinkpad.

Mac OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" Developer Build Announced

Just bring the kexts from another OS, and/or compile a custom kernel. Then just slipstream the installer. :P There's no way Darwin won't compile on x86, heck, it compiled on x86 back when Panther was current.

    World of Warcraft performance?

I play on a Vanilla server, but I get around 20-25fps with my GMA X3100. Funny, I only got about 10-15 in Windows. It was borderline unplayable. Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 4GB of RAM, and OS X is on my spare, 100GB HD. I'm putting it on my main drive later though. :D

Mac OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" Developer Build Announced

OS X.. Not.. Mac OS X.. I know some people are saying this could be iPad/iPod integration. But guys. GUYS GUYS GUYS! I think it's something bigger! I think.. They might make OS X PC Installable with this OS! :O We might be going mainstream. Haha. :D

Hackintosh build. Cheap yet reliable and upgradable.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813121529 Actually that board. I want a PCI-e slot. I'm not a fan of Gigabyte, I don't trust them. Not saying I don't like them, just that I've had a lot more success with Intel motherboards in the past, and want to continue with it. What will a...

Hackintosh build. Cheap yet reliable and upgradable.

So, I was thinking of this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813121550 And either the i3 or a Pentium Dual Core now, then an upgrade to an i5 when Ivy Bridge comes out. My question is- will OS X work with that, or for the initial budget build, will I need a PCI-e...

Has anyone ever attempted a imac G3 casemod?

15 inch was plenty for me in 2005, it's plenty for me now. I don't get people's obsession with big/wide screens. 4:3 to me feels better. That said, is there software to fake the round appearance of the screen borders in Mac OS X, for when I install on one of those machines? I plan on attempting...

    Cant find match kernel

Okay after burning the DVD, hit F5 then select the Mac OS X Install Disc. Hitting F5 refreshes the drivelist for iBoot. :P

    Made in China?

True. Very true, sadly. Pure capitalism is the heart of greed and evilness, and that shows you how "Marxist" the Chinese Communist Party really is. Honestly, they're more greedy than we are. -.- But eh. What they don't realize is that releasing these horrible products only tarnishes their...

Will Apple Ever Update the Mac Pro?

Hopefully that minitower Mac will be cheaper than the iMac. I'd buy it. And these are the things we get without Steve Jobs being around.. we can see that he hated minitowers. ;) Until they come out with that though.. well, I'm building my modern PowerMac with all Intel components. Don't get...

    USB Mass Storage- 10.6.8

So after I updated to 10.6.8, flash drives don't work. They're detected, but never mount. Haven't tried mounting manually yet, because I don't know how Darwin does that. Anyone know what's going on? They worked fine in 10.6.2, but that's a really old MacOS and doesn't work with some things. I...

    Made in China?

If the Chinese government were truly Marxist, yes, yes it would be a better place without Foxconn. The Computer of the People could be built :P But they're not true Marxists. They're capitalists hiding under the guise of Stalinism and Maoism. It's a wolf in bear's clothing.

Who's hack is too weak and why?

My Thinkmac is amazing. Sure, it's not a gamer, but a Core 2 Duo and 4GB of RAM for $300, coupled with the world's best OS, is amazing.
