Network OK booting with iBoot, but NOT from chimera(lnx2mac)

OK, nevermind : Had forgotten one of the basics : iBoot's Lnx2mac drivers are up to date, chimera's are not... Using V0.90 as I usually did (not this time, though) solved the issue. If a moderator stumbles upon this AND the lnx2mac included with chimera have been updated since, please delete...

Network OK booting with iBoot, but NOT from chimera(lnx2mac)

Hi all, I came into an odd behaviour on my latest build : ga-z68xp-ud5 w/ i7 2700k Radeon HD 6870 OsX 10.6.8 Booting from iBoot, onto my mystem with DSDT, networking is perfectly functional. Now, booting from chimera, It doesn't work... Tried to replicate iBoot's boot.plist and chameleon prefs...

    Wifi - TP-Link TL-WN951N - 64bit not working

I can (sadly) confirm the 951 also gives a KP when put to use, whether 64 or 32 bit kernel. (needs atherosfix to get recognised in 64bits, but won't work anyhow) What's strange is it detects network and seems to work, but as soon as data packets are in transit... KP.

    Monitors

Just bought a Samsung syncmaster F2380M. PVA flat panel (instead of cheaper TN panels). means a lot less stress on my eyes at the end of the day. And I put it on an arm (ergotron MX), so now with two 23" monitors side by side in portrait mode, I can **really** work much better all day long...

    Installing Chameleon

@colinhb88: If it's not chameleon related, maybe it's that you are booting your drive in IDE mode instead of AHCI (this is to be set in the BIOS). Check the settings of the port your system HD is on. That's one that is often forgotten.

    GA-P55A-UD6 thread

Re: GA-P55M-UD6 thread I "solved" the firewire issue by buying a cheap (but Texas Instruments chipset) belkin PCI card. Had to remove AppleHPET.kext to have it work, still gives firewire power security mode disabled error in kernel log, but I've been using the rig this whole morning with...

Will restore from disk image work with the hackintosh setup?

yes, that's correct (except I'd rather fix the bootloader before restoring) But apart from the bootloader, disk imaging for system deployment is the best solution IMHO.

Will restore from disk image work with the hackintosh setup?

Hi, Once you have a working full fresh install that you want to image for future quick re-deployment, then you should use something like cloneX (which will make a copy of the drive) Later, you only need to reinstall chameleon to desired partition, prior to restoring the disk image to it with...

Does the firewire work on the UD2 rig with Tony's DSDT? (I mean, really work as in external harddrives mount and unmount correctly) ??

How to get a dump of the verbose boot output ?

:?: (I know, noob question here... but hey, let's learn !) I'd love to be able to access all those gorgeous lines of text that are displayed during the boot but which I cannot read since it boots in under 10s time... And I cannot find them anywhere with the Console, so I just wonder if they...
