I upgraded to iMac18,3 recently in the hopes that maybe the native nvidia drivers would work. For me it brings noting more...
I am running the web drivers, they're currently enabled via nvram.plist
<key>nvda_drv</key>
<data>
MQA=
</data>
I would like to get some help solving this as well.
AAMOF, I have a very similar configuration as you.
Was working well until macOS Sierra.
GA-Z77-DS3H, Core i5 3570, Nvidia GTX 960
I had the same problem on my GA-Z77-DS3H. Updating from Clover 3998 to the latest fixed it for me.
Before that I went through the loops, restoring the native AppleHDA kext and running the Tolega scripts.
After installing OS X 10.10/Yosemite final and the latest web drivers from Nvidia I figured I should try my 750 Ti which I've had lying on my desk for half a year now (or thereabouts).
Work pretty well except the fans where running at full speed. Noisy!
Went through the ropes trying to...
On that note; I was optimistic since the 334.89 release notes for the Windows driver mentions added support for GTX 750, GTX 750ti and GTX TITAN Black.
Maybe one has to do some device-id changes, but the freeze on boot...
I tried these with my Nvidia GTX 750ti.
Freezes on boot.
Tried several combinations of GraphicsEnabler=yes|no and nvda_drv=1|0
No luck.
Maybe others have better luck than me.
Reinstalled GT 640.
