I have been using this @CaseySJ build for around 2 years now and it's been great for me with little to no hiccups. Yesterday however, I booted into Mojave and started to experience major freezes and lockups.
Sometimes, the mouse cursor would still be active but I couldn't interact with any apps...
I completed a successful build of @CaseySJ 's Hackintosh with the Z390 Designare MOBO, Radeon Pulse RX580 GPU, core i7-9700K CPU, 32GB (2x16GB) of crucial ballistix sport LT 2400 RAM, a Samsung 970 PRO 512 system drive, and a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO storage drive. I've had a few things to work out...
That is excellent news! Thanks very much CaseySJ.
Did you compare those scores to some of the example machines in the listing for comparison? I was seeing a core i5 ~2Ghz machine getting the same scores unless i'm not interpreting those readings correctly.
When I click on the spotlight tool in the upper right corner I don't see a progress bar saying that Mojave is indexing anything, is there any other way to tell?
I checked with activity monitor and it was less than 4% CPU usage when I ran the Geekbench test.
I don't see where I can get Geek Bench...
Thanks very much for this great guide CaseySJ ! I got my third hackintosh up and running on Mojave 10.14.6 with the following components:
Gigabyte Z390 Designare
Intel Core i7-9700K
Radeon Pulse RX 580 - 8GB GPU
32GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 2400 MT/s(2x16GB)
Samsung 970 Pro - 512GB SSD...
Ah, thank you for the clarification pastrychef. So, any idea why i'm seeing that frequency for my CPU in the BIOS? Is it just a function of the BIOS showing the multiplier/Max speed for the processor?
Hi Hackintosh/tonymacx86 community!
I am in the process of building a Mojave Hackintosh configuration with a Gigabyte Z390 Designare MOBO, Intel Core i7-9700K, and Radeon Pulse RX 580 GPU.
Today when I put all the components together and fired up the computer to look at BIOS settings, I...
UPDATE: I have MacDrive8 installed on my Windows drive, so I used it to check the drives I use in OSX. I was also getting an error message in windows saying that my other HDD's that I use in OSX also weren't disconnected properly and might have errors. When I ran the MacDrive diagnostic and...
So I got a new monitor yesterday and I rearranged my desk and moved my computer and peripherals around to accommodate the new monitor. (This is a system I built in the beginning of 2012.) Once I got everything set up, I turned on the computer and everything seemed fine. I got to the white apple...
I do most likely need to go back through and check that, but I was concerned when even my Windows partition wouldn't boot up. That should work no problem so I was a little worried I might be having some BIOS issues or motherboard problems. I've updated the BIOS once back when I did my initial...
I have a Hackintosh with the following hardware:

OCZ Agility 60gb SSD | LG Blue Ray Burner
Antec CP850 | Antec P183 Case

Re: Unibeast Fails
Because the only question I asked was:
"Anybody ever heard of a USB drive going bad?"
If you'd like for me to give you a rundown of my system hardware I will, I just wanted to know if anybody has ever had trouble with their USB drive going bad when using unibeast to install...
I had success earlier today with installing Lion 10.7.2 using a USB drive with the app store Lion installer, and then I was having problems with getting my GPU to be recognized in system profiler and getting full resolution.
I tried to go back and use Multibeast to install graphics support for...
Sorry forgot to say that I had already installed the latest nvidia drivers. When I look in system profiler, the graphics card isn't recognized aside from the brand. Still don't know why I can't view the .plist files.
So I'm trying to get my GTX460 card to have full resolution, right now it's just 1024x768. I did a clean install of Lion using a USB drive. Don't remember if I checked the graphics box when installing multibeast, now when I try to go back and do that it says installation failed.
I'm trying to...
Well, it turns out it was just a case of not paying attention. On the choose boot device screen, I was still selecting USB-FDD instead of USB-HDD. Works fine now. I also downloaded the latest BIOS version from gigabyte and flashed that, works great. Only thing now is I can't change display...
I've installed Lion on my 60GB ssd using a USB drive that I partitioned and everything looked like it went fine, but when I try to reboot and boot from the USB FDD again, it gets to the screen that says loading operating system and just sits there.
I have an intel i5 sandy bridge, corsair 16gb...
