XFX RX590 GPU only reporting 15MB of RAM

Thanks for the reply & my apologies for not responding sooner. I did some more research and it seems that the XFX branded cards are to be avoided...so tbh I've donated that RX590 to my son's PC and moved on. Sadly I've moved on to more GPU issues! :) I now have a Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 5600...

XFX RX590 GPU only reporting 15MB of RAM

Hi I've just swapped a Sapphire RX580 for an XFX Radeon RX590 in my existing system: i7 10700K, Sonoma, AsRock Z490-M-ITX, OpenCore 0.9.6, SMBIOS iMac20,1 Everything seems to be working ok but the machine only reports 15MB (!) of RAM for the "Graphics" under About This Mac and if I'm honest...

"Failed to prepare the software update" during upgrade attempt

This is a first for me, I've had my system running fine for several years and always gone through minor & major updates without an issue. Until today. After ensuring my OpenCore was current (0.8.5) along with kexts, I backed up my machine to Time Machine and attempted to upgrade from Monterey...

HackinDROM App for OpenCore EFI Creation and Update

Many thanks. It was the text "Up to date" beneath the mount button that confused me. Clearly I am not up to date in terms of OC. :-)

    macOS 12.5 Update

Seemed fine for me with OC 0.7.9 AsRock Z490M-ITX

HackinDROM App for OpenCore EFI Creation and Update

Hi. I always seem to get this issue but apparently am not clever enough to remember what the fix is! :-) I'm running v2.1.3 of HackindROM (latest afaik) - in the main HackindROM screen it shows my OC as 0.7.9 and "Up to date" underneath the mount.unmount button. The latest / current OC is...

    GA-H170N-WIFI OpenCore

Finally got some time to work on this. Do you have audio working with the 0.7.4 OpenCore? The system boots up and seems to work fine, except I show no devices in System Preferences > Sound. I've tried resetting the NVRAM and rebooting - same. Thanks

    GA-H170N-WIFI OpenCore

Hi, Would you be able to post your working EFI for OpenCore 0.7.x / the GA-H170N please? Thanks, Steve

HackinDROM App for OpenCore EFI Creation and Update

Aha, many thanks. Not very.....obvious ? ;-) Wasn't it the case before that something would alert us if the currently installed version was < the current release version of OpenCore? I forget. Unrelated question: What is this icon for? There's no hint when I hover over it and clicking it...

HackinDROM App for OpenCore EFI Creation and Update

Hi! I have HackinDROM 2.1.1 but it isn't offering me the option of updating to OpenCore 0.7.9 - is that expected? Thanks

No audio or Bluetooth after Monterey upgrade

Cool. Glad things are working again.

No audio or Bluetooth after Monterey upgrade

NP. Did you install the specific Airportitlwmor Monterey? There seems to be multiple flafvours these days depending on the OS variant. WiFi is working for me on my onboard / motherboard Intel card.

No audio or Bluetooth after Monterey upgrade

Iirc from the official Opencore docs covering Bluetooth, it's also vital to not have any other Intel injector kexts installed - so JUST the fixup kext and firmware kext. Not sure if that's relevant for you? Worth keeping an eye on this thread and other issues in the repo...

No audio or Bluetooth after Monterey upgrade

Have you tried the v2.6.1 (specifically) version of BlueToolFixup+the intelFirmware?

No audio or Bluetooth after Monterey upgrade

UPDATE: Intel Bluetooth is now working again for me under Monterey thanks to the combination of the latest (v2.6.1) release of BlueToolFixup + IntelBluetoothFirmware https://bitbucket.org/profdrluigi/brcmpatchram-nightly/downloads/?tab=downloads

<< Solved >> Long delay during boot (USB related?)

UPDATE: Courtesy of a Redditor who had a similar issue - I removed my kexts relating to enabling Bluetooth for Intel cards & I now boot at the usual speed. Fingers crossed for Intel Bluetooth support in Monterey at some point.

No audio or Bluetooth after Monterey upgrade

I manually recreated my EFI / config.plist and audio is now back - using alcid=11 as boot-args (which worked under Big Sur too). My machine now boots fine but I have a strange, very long, delay during boot: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/long-delay-during-boot-usb-related.316621/ Thanks...

<< Solved >> Long delay during boot (USB related?)

To try and resolve my issues with having no audio (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/no-audio-or-bluetooth-after-monterey-upgrade.316571/) I decided to create an entirely fresh OC 0.7.4 EFI / config.plistby working through the OpenCore docs. This resolved my issue with audio, not Bluetooth but...
