Inside MultiBeast: New FakeSMC Plugins and Hardware Monitoring App

This version of HWMonitor caused lots of SystemUIServer crashes (look into console.app). Switched to another branch without these crashes.

    Sleep Problems - AMD 6870 Z68X-UD3H-B3

What's about the BIOS version & which DSDT do you use? Did you install or patch the AppleRTC kext?

Chimera doesn't start with ext hdd

It helped me too - thank you! But here it is a internal harddisk (beside 3 SSD).

Still waiting for root device (Z68X-UD3H-B3 and Radeon HD6870)

I'm wondering whether a hackintosh is the right choice if the user isn't able to solve these very common problems. Issue "Still waiting for...": It hasn't to do anything with the bootflags for chameleon, it's vanilla kernel related => Solution is in this thread...

    [SUCCESS]GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 - i5-2500k - Sapphire Radeon HD 6850

So, I've upgraded our hackintoshs seamlessly to 10.8 :D 2x i5 2500k, 1x i7 1275 Xeon, 1x i3 2125, all with ATI 68x0/4870. Everything is working like under 10.7: Sleep, automatic Sleep, Sound, Booting, App Store, iTunes Match, Networking... Thank you Apple, thank you tonymacx86!

    Mountain Lion + Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3

This is not a big issue, this problem is described and solved soon after the rollout of ML a few days before: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-lion-desktop-support/60730-mountain-lion-6xxx-gpu-issues-fix-inside.html Read a little bit across this forum - most of the general installation...

Whats about the boot messages in verbose mode of Chimera? Is the last message "Still waiting for root device"?

    [SUCCESS]GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 - i5-2500k - Sapphire Radeon HD 6850

@zard: The reset happens after a second sleep (first works fine), the machine doesn't wake up and if you hard reset the board after that the BIOS is reseted. The cause is the patched AppleRTC.kext from actual Multibeast, the patch isn't compatible to 10.8. But it exists a patch for 10.8...

    Mountain Lion + Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3

The board runs fine under 10.7 and 10.8 without any problem. Sound is working with 2 kexts from multibeast. The hanging boot process under 10.8 is caused (likely) of a a bug in Mountain Lion during early kernel initialization, but there is a patch. @nickeleye: Can you post the last messages...

Is Mountain Lion sometimes checking .kext checksums?

I'm testing a fresh installed 10.8 at the moment. Sometimes OS X pops up a notice window with a message like this: "Kernel Extension AppleRTC.kext wasn't correct installed and can't be used. Please ask your vendor for an updated version." This happens only for my patched kexts. I don't...

    [SUCCESS]GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 - i5-2500k - Sapphire Radeon HD 6850

After a little bit trial and error I've got the same hardware running under 10.8. Sleep is working fine, iCloud and iTunes Match working too. Some things differ from 10.7 with Multibeast: • Sleep: in Multibeast included patched AppleRTC.kext causes CMOS Resets after sleep • Sound...

    Still waiting root device in ML (Z86X-UD3H-B3 F12 + i5 2500k + 16GB RAM)

Same here. Installation is fine, after rebooting with installed Multibeast features (DSDT, AppleRTC & FakeSMC) the boot process hangs after detecting the network device with "still waiting for root device" message. No bootloader option helps, I've tried them all in several steps. Hardware...

    GA-Z68X - wake from sleep-USB Issues!

I have had these delays after wake only with lynx2mac kext. Furthermore my Wacom Intuos was disabled completely after the 15 seconds delay. With original Realtek kext or Intel kext for NICs there are no delays - it is a l2m driver issue I'm sure.

    GA-Z68X - wake from sleep-USB Issues!

 Good choice. I'm going to build a third Hack and thinking to sell my Mac Pro. The Hacks with 2500k and SATA3/SSD (have some Samung 830) are faster than my 8 Core mac pro with SSDs too.

    GA-Z68X - wake from sleep-USB Issues!

Did you order the Sonnet Presto BASIC or PRO? Basic has a Realtek Chip too - that was my pitfall, I've ordered 2 and they didn't working. The Pro has another (mor expensive) Chip

Yeah, I guess this is the only one with native support which we can buy in Europe. There is another card but not available in Germany.

    GA-Z68X - wake from sleep-USB Issues!

I've built 2 hacks for production use and I've tested really hard and long before: Onboard Realtak crap with lynx2mac or native Realtek kexts, PCIe Realtek crap with lynx2mac or native Realtek kexts, Sonnet labeled Realtek crap (PCIe too) - nothing worked 100%. At the moment I'm fine with...

    Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter

I ran into same problems under OS X Lion 10.7.2: After enabling the Intel EXPI9301CTBLK PRO1000 via the method mentioned in the first post of this thread the card works for about 10 seconds and then stop working. No messages in console.app or other hints. ifconfig en0 shows a working device. The...
