    << Solved >> Stuck @ 10.14.2

I'll just stay at 10.14.2 and HFS for the time being. Maybe when Mojave's replacement comes out I'll go back to APFS. Thanks for the info!

    << Solved >> Stuck @ 10.14.2

My Hackintosh has stopped showing macOS updates. When I look at the SU panel in System Preferences it says I'm up to date @ 10.14.2 and the App Store only shows a few app updates available, no macOS updates. The only thing slightly different about this Mojave install is that I installed Mojave...

    [Success] High Sierra (10.13.2) on MSI B75A-G43, Radeon HD7770, i3-3220, IntelB75, Ivy-Bridge, 7er S

Thanks a TON! I just bought a used 7770 to take some of the burden off of my i5 3570K when doing FCPX. After a few false starts I found your thread, installed Lilu.kext and Whatevergreen.kext to /EFI/ClOVER/kexts/Other on my boot drive's EFI, then launched CloverConfigurator, loaded up my boot...

    H61N-USB3-Upgrade CPU or GPU?

I successfully ran Mojave on it for a few weeks then dropped back down to High Sierra for some testing, it's running like a champ!

Final Cut Pro X FCPX Graphic Card performance

FWIW, I just ran BruceX on my H61N-USB3 - 3570K i5 with 8GB RAM and HD4000 @ 1536MB and got 122 seconds. That's not bad, right, considering NO discrete GPU?

    H61N-USB3-Upgrade CPU or GPU?

OK, I went ahead and upgraded the i3 to a i5 3570K (I already have one of them in another Hackintosh and love it) and FCPX renders and does everything a lot better. I got the GPU for $45 so I figure that's a good upgrade. However, being a nerd and tinkerer, I still want to explore a dedicated...

    Update Directly to macOS Mojave

Upgraded a H61N-USB3 just like it was a real Mac, everything went perfectly!

[Solved] Intel HD 4000 on i7 3770, no graphics

I have a h61n-usb3 and I just upgraded from i3 to i5 3570K and had graphics issues (HD4000 only showing 3MB). I tried a few things then I installed your config file and BAM, problem solved and it boots faster than ever now! Much thanks!!

    H61N-USB3 upgrading from i3 to i5

OK, I checked the cpu upgrade candidate and here is a screenshot of the DSDT PluginType. Mine currently has nothing there with blank, 0, and 1 being the options. I checked my other Hackintosh, which is already running the same cpu (but newer mobo) that I plan to install into this one, and it had...

    H61N-USB3 upgrading from i3 to i5

Thanks. I do use CC on this one (I have two Hackintoshes) and I never did anything in the SSDT pane on the cpu upgrade candidate. I'll fire it up in a bit and see if it's ticked. If it isn't ticked, should I, or should I just do the cpu swap first, hit Power, and see what happens before I change...

    H61N-USB3 upgrading from i3 to i5

I said "should", I wasn't trying to trick you into some sort of verbal contract. How hard would it have been to say "Yes, it should work with just swapping the cpu, but sometimes things aren't that simple."

    H61N-USB3 upgrading from i3 to i5

The mobo is now at F8 so you're saying all I need to do is install the new CPU and turn on the computer and it should boot up and run fine, as it does now, with me not needing to make any changes in the BIOS?

    H61N-USB3 upgrading from i3 to i5

I have a Gigabyte H61N-USB3 with a i3-2105 currently running High Sierra. I'm about to remove the i3 and install a i5-3570K. Is that all I need to do or do I need to set anything differently in the BIOS? Thanks!

[Solved] H61N-USB3 can't install High Sierra

Just checked and I'm at F8 on BIOS which is the latest listed here in the DSDT database. Thanks for your help!

[Solved] H61N-USB3 can't install High Sierra

I now have a working system, albeit with orange SSD icon and the OS thinks it's external. But if it's going to run OK then I don't have a problem leaving it as is. I asked previously, is there anything to be gained by placing my DSDT.aml file in the EFI folder? It seems to run fine without it...

[Solved] H61N-USB3 can't install High Sierra

OK, that last patch made the system unbootable. It got about halfway through Apple and progress bar and then threw up the forbidden symbol. Tried multiple times, same each time. Reverted to previous kext state and is booting again. Here's what borked it:

[Solved] H61N-USB3 can't install High Sierra

No SATA speed setting. By trouble, I mean that if the OS sees my internal boot SSD as an external drive, might it not throttle its speed or otherwise treat it differently than if it thought it was a internal drive? In other words, is the icon fix merely cosmetic? If so, I won't worry about it...

[Solved] H61N-USB3 can't install High Sierra

That doesn't actually answer my question. Is this just a cosmetic fix or does this make the OS treat the drives differently, with potential for trouble later?

[Solved] H61N-USB3 can't install High Sierra

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question/assumption but does that fix just change the icon from external/orange to internal/grey or is there more to it? I ask mainly because when I set the Finder prefs to show Hard Disks on the Desktop, my internal drives don't show up. They only show up...

[Solved] H61N-USB3 can't install High Sierra

OK, I did some googling and found a suggestion to add the APFS.efi file (mine didn't have one) into the EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ folder and that partially solved my issue. I can now boot via the SSD. The only lingering issue now is that my USB drive doesn't show up AND my SSD shows up as an...
