You can change the SMBIOS settings from the CLOVER boot loader screen.
On the boot loader screen, hit the down arrow when it appears and choose
Options > SMBIOS,
you can edit it in there.
Change it back to imac 14,2
Also, you don't really need CUDA to make Adobe CC run smoothly on a Mac...
I have the same motherboard( GA-Z77X-UD5H) except I use a GTX 980 Graphics card and I've overclocked the CPU to 4.3 Ghz-
The only way I was able to get el capitan to install was to remove the GTX980 and put in an GTX 660 - It worked natively and then let me install the Nvidia Web Drivers-...
343.02.02f02 Alternate Drivers + Security Update 2015-002 = Broken
Damn - I usually never install updates until I check them out here first- but I figured there's no way a security update will break anything.
Wrong.
Security Update 2015-002 Definitely breaks the Nvdia drivers. Hopefully...
Just installed the new Nvidia Web Drivers 343.02.02f02
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/82983/en-us
Everything went smoothly and my EVGA GTX 980sc still works OS x 10.10.2 iMac 13,2 smbios through hdmi port and the hackintosh boots without a problem. . .
6.5.36 Doesn't work with GTX 970 or GTX 980's
There's a newer CUDA Driver specifically for GTX 970 & 980's
download:http://us.download.nvidia.com/Mac/Qu...5.37-macos.dmg
I've gotten CUDA X to work and premiere pro
Ray tracing still doesn't work in After Effects
Even though CUDA is now enabled in GPU info with 6.5.37 I'm still getting errors in After Effects when rendering Ray Traced comps. . . I have a GTX980.
Running Yosemite and Latest After Effects CC 20114 version 13.2.0
CUDA does work however on Premiere Pro with no errors so far.
Hmm I guess I should have read this first. . .
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/index.html#Nvidia_CUDA_Updates
When I updated via the CUDA Preference pane it installed 6.5.36
However here's a version 6.5.37 specifically for GTX 980's...
Just checked for an UPDATE in the CUDA system preferences and it downloaded a new update!!
CUDA 6.5.36 - However it still doesn't fix the problem with After Effects CC 2014
At least it doesn't say update required - no newer updates anymore. . .
Any one else try it yet?
Many people don't understand that OPENCL and CUDA are essentially the same thing. They allow the computer to use the GPU to do heavy graphics processing uses the GPU's mulitple cores which is many times faster (75-100%) than the CPU only. The difference is OpenCL is open spec and CUDA is...
I just installed NVidia Mac OS X Web Drivers with my old 660 Ti still installed on my GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard.
Followed Tonymac's instructions:

Just installed the gtx 980 sc in my computer which is running yosemite 10.10.1
Installed NVIDIA Web Drivers First 343.02.01f01
Updated org.chameleon.Boot.plist to include Kernel flag "<string>nvda_drv=1</string>"
Changed Bios Init Display First to PCI
Seems to be working fine!
Old Card...
I'm leaning towards the GTX980 sc at this point. Spec-wise it looks slower than a GTX 780ti but it is faster thanks to a higher clock speed. The GTX980 SC also uses less power. No one is sure when the GTX 980 Ti is coming out - was supposed to this month but they're having manufacturing...
I am also an editor and have a similar SLUGNET video editor system as you do.
The difference is I have the EVGA 660ti GPU $200 currently
CUDA Cores 1344
Memory Bandwidth 144.2 GB/s
GFLOPS - 2459.52
You have the GTX 580 - $157 used
CUDA Cores 512
Memory Bandwidth 192.3 GB/s
GFLOPS -...
I've been running a similar set up since early September and I've set it up to dual boot into windows 7 for gaming and os 10.8.2 for editing and motion graphics - I'm also a noob to this scene. I hacked a netbook which was alot more work than this gigabyte mother board build.
I've also...
