Ok, the 8GB RAM is only 1333 MHz and the one I took out is 1600 MHz so I guess that's my problem. Unfortunately there's only one RAM slot in the computer so I can't try another 4GB stick. I suppose I'll get a faster 8GB.

I don't see a section called kexts. Which tab do I look under? The column to the left is titled keys, so I was referring to sections in the config.plist file.

Ok, I downloaded Hackintool, but I am having trouble figuring out how to actually mount the EFI partition. Is there a guide somewhere or could you tell me where to find that functionality. I have mainly looked under the usb and disk tabs, but can't figure out exactly how this works

How do I access the EFI partition for the usb? I have my OpenCore EFI folder ready, but I don't know where to put it on the drive. I have also built the catalina installer using createinstallmedia, so I just need to know how to do this.
