Just to clarify, I don't want to run OSx from the Revodrive Hybrid, I just want Chimera to see it so I don't have to go into the boot options screen of the bios every time I want to run Windows 8. May seem trivial, but it would be nice.
Hey guys,
Been scouring the web and the forums for an answer and can't seem to find one.
I have a x58 chipset with 990x that doesn't have SATA 6 Ports and the cheapo sata 6 raid controllers aren't giving me the speed I need for my Mushkin Chronos Deluxe. For some reason, even on PCIE 2...
Could this be why I can't get my Asus P6T Deluxe v2, 990x and ML 10.8 to get my multiplier to 31? It jumps around between 16, 26 and sometimes 27. I have generate P and C States in my boot.plist. I am getting 3590mhz our of a possible 4410. Geekbench is 19,000 now, but I didn't buy this 990x...
Sorry if this has been resolved before but I have a questions regarding multipliers and why OSx doesn't always follow the MB and CPUs stages and kind of randomly picks its own.
My system is:
Asus p6t Deluxe v2
intel 990x 6 core processor overclocked to 4.41 ghz
CPU bios settings:
c1e -...
I have built more than 15 rigs this year for audio guys in LA and I can tell you that when OCing, you want to use power (and longevity) saving utilites. You will not see a performance difference with any of the settings you mentioned, but you will see cooler temps at idle and your system will...
Update:
I just downloaded and ran SMC Monitor and my P and C states list is full of awesome frequencies I should be able to hit. My goal is 4700 but right now I'm stuck at 4400 (and sometimes down to 4300 even though the that P State doesn't exist in the list. Any ideas?
I do not have...
Hey guys,

I have tried every combination of disabling/enabling C and P states, EIST, C1E and Turbo and can't get the multiplier to go above 44 in hardware monitor. I...
I don't think its cumbersome at all but cumbersome or not, having the ability to add it in the future is nice. I need to build a rig with at least 5 PCIe ports.

Hey guys! Asus ThunderboltEX Addon card was announced this week.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/5935/asus-thunderbolt-ex-upgrade-card-for-7series-motherboards
I'm assuming it uses the TB chipset everyone else is in the PC world and Apple hasn't caught up. Anyone have any news on that though...
Install on Lion went without a hitch.

Made my own DSDT as neither these nor Mike661's from DUC forums was working.

The problem with the 210 is the cooler is so big it blocks the 2nd PCIe port. This seemed like a good passive 1 slot alternative, but it seems people are giving up :( The 210 + GE=yes means all ports work, no sleep problems and OOB, but its so damn big gosh darn it.
Digidal.kext is an HD related kext. Only happens on Lion as far as I know.
I've read that some Macs have this problem too. I'm going to try the kernel cache thing to see if it works. Wish me luck.
I'm attempting this now. I'm actually going the Lion route, so it should be easier. I know many have said it can't be done, but I am going to get to the bottom of this. Someone on page 11 says they got it working.
does $4500 include monitors and peripherals? You could easily spend $1,500 on a pair of nice 27" monitors and what not.
If its just the comp, I'd say EVGA SR2 and 2 mighty fast Xeons.
Then, I'd pop in a 580x, maybe 2!
I'd SLI them and get 2 Mushkin 240GB SSDs (chronos are wicked fast) and...
