<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

@UtterDisbelief: The CtlnaAHCIPort.kext was recommended in #9, apparently I don't need it, but - up to now - it didn't cause any harm... @Edhawk: I feel so stupid now - earlier in this thread I learned that Clover doesn't need kexts in /L/E, so I moved them to the Clover EFI drive, which worked...

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

Done, no change. Always stops at: (see image) Update: now also panics from USB. Not sure which change caused that. Removed spare folders in EFI partition. Nothing else really comes to mind...

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

I don't get it... @Edhawk, with your EFI folder, the picker now comes up properly - but the "wrong" one, the builtin (I added the PlatformData entries to config.plist) @UtterDisbelief: I meant that after choosing the EFI partition on the USB drive from the boot menu selection, the picker...

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

Yeah, primary setting in BIOS is UEFI Clover from SSD, secondary is UEFI Windows from HD; if USB is inserted, this has another UEFI bootloader (OC). The sorting (and collected entries) of the OC picker are not of interest to me as long as OC doesn't boot my system. When I can safely and...

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

I'm really grateful for your continuing support! :) but I guess we don't get each other quite completely ;) I have a working Mojave installation on my PC (in fact, I'm writing from/on it now) which boots fine with Clover 5122. I wanted to try booting via OC, because updating Clover often has...

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

No, on the 2nd partition on the USB drive is a "fresh" Mojave recovery file (2 files, recoveryimage.dmg and recoveryimage.chunklist) as described in Dortania "Legacy macOS: Online method". This is booted by OC from the stick if I don't "interfere" the boot by pressing keys, as the boot selection...

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

The one thing I was not able to identify is DVMT Pre-Allocated Memory; this is not the same as shared memory (now set to 128M, previously was at 64M)? Everything else was either not present or already set "properly". Booting with Clover works fine, so generally the system seems to be able to...

Sorry, unchanged. Still reboots after OS selection :(

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

Thanks a lot, I will try this. When I change the SMBIOS from iMac18,3 to iMac19,1, do I need a new serial, will this affect iMessage and the lot?

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

Oh, then I misunderstood the "post EFI folder"... sorry! According to the "which ssdt do I need" Kaby Lake wouldn't need AWAC, that's why I didn't include it at first. Now I started a new try, re-reset NVRAM (just in case) and tried booting with AWAC - no change. Attached EFI folder (redacted...

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

This is a H370 system, not a Z370; OC guide for Kaby Lake didn't mark SSDT-AWAC.aml as essential; I will try if it helps. Is there a better way to show/post the config? I didn't know any, sorry... the device info data should be redacted (replaced with 00/0000). The EFI folder contains: EFI...

<< Solved >> Trouble booting with OC...

Yes, 0xE2 is unlocked. Tried the OC utility and it matches the BIOS setting. I completely reset the USB drive and installed OC again, now it reboots as soon as I choose the MacOS partition to boot from (MSR 0xE2-tool runs fine). The remainder of the boot log is as follows: 67:384 00:068 OCB...

Hi, my system is ASRock H370M-Pro4 with Intel UHD630 iGFX, i219V ethernet, RTL ALC892 sound i5-8600K (Kaby Lake) Radeon RX570 (dual monitor, 2 DP connected) Sys: Samsung 970EVO 500G NVMe onboard Data (home): Viper M.2 VPN100 with PCIe NVMe adapter Clover 5xxx Mojavem which is running fine...

    SSDT and kexts

Oh, that might be a misunderstanding - I don't have "new" (changed) hardware. This has been running unchanged for ~2 years (?). It's booting via UEFI clover ("legacy" meaning pre-OC, 5102 IIRC). But I'll try OC, thanks for the recommendation.

    SSDT and kexts

Thanks for your reply, which leaves me ... clueless? ;-) I have a working "legacy clover" installation, and I was trying to fix PM issues (see above). So "no need for legacy" is fine, but legacy is working (mostly). Would you recommend switching to OC (then without own SSDT?)? Not sure how...

    SSDT and kexts

I know, which is why I asked if the modified SSDT tables (all created manually based on the clover F4 dump DSDT) can work. I fear I haven't understood all the connections and dependencies. Is there another tutorial which applied to ("legacy") clover?

    SSDT and kexts

Hi, following the "Getting started with ACPI" tutorial, I created/modified SSDTs for my system (SSDT-AWAC, SSDT-EC-USBX, SSDT-PLUG-DRTNIA, SSDT-PMC). Before feeding these to clover, I wanted to check if these work together with or agains kexts / drivers loaded by Clover. Clover loads drivers...

Security Update 2020-005 (High Sierra) & (Mojave)

I have a similar problem on Mojave. Tried updating clover to 5122, but to no avail. After starting the update, the black screen shows some progress, then reboots. After booting into "Install macOS", the pink lines appear (they don't on the "original" 10.14.6) and the status bar moves ever so...
