I am using RX 580 pulse. Tried macpro7,1 smbios with multimonitor disabled in bios. Tried with or without whatevergreen. DRM videos work fine in quicktime. Netflix works fine in safari. But I don't get hdr or 4k resolution. Only get HD in safari. Checked developer menu in safari and vp9 is...

[Success] ASUS Prime Z370-A+i9-9900k Pro Audio Build

I checked the speeds in Windows boot, and I see those reduced speeds as well. Something related to BIOS or motherboard I guess. Edit: I swapped another cable and I am seeing 10gbps in both type A and type C ports. No usb mapping or asmedia kexts are needed for the asmedia controller.

[Success] ASUS Prime Z370-A+i9-9900k Pro Audio Build

I am only getting 5Gbps speed (Type A) and 480 Mbps (Type C) on the Asmedia controller. Tried Asmedia kext, rename SSDT and without it. I also have to enable disablertcchecksum quirk to avoid BIOS post issues after shutdown. The Gigabyte B360 I had before worked with no issues - showed 10Gbps...

[Success] ASUS Prime Z370-A+i9-9900k Pro Audio Build

@NorthAmTransAm, I am planning to swap my B360 Aorus mobo with Z370-A ii. I won't be using anyThunderbolt cards. I thought the Z370s are mostly OOB working but see lots of posts on USB mapping issues. I did my current mapping (B360 has only one controller) using Dortania USB mapping guide (Intel...

[GUIDE] macOS Big Sur 11 on Z390 Aorus Elite board

I have a optical drive and if I use disksleep, mac keeps reading optical drive (even with no disc in it) once in every few minutes. I use disksleep 0 as I have an optical drive. Also, if you have windows in a different disk installed, make sure the sleep is working fine with windows. For me if I...

    [Success] Gigabyte Z390 Auros Pro + i7-9700K + Sapphire RX 580 Pulse

Same thing for me. I have similar setup - windows in one nvme and macos in another. If sleep works in windows, then macos sleep works. Otherwise it won't. Have to disable hibernate in windows and wake on lan in windows device manager even though bios settings are correct. Weird but windows is...

I have Inspiron 13 5378 with i7-7500U like you. So far everything works except I see battery message that the capacity is low and service recommended. I checked my DSDT and I don't need a battery patch. How should I fix this?

New DRM enabling method for systems with AMD GPU

That looks ok. When compared to real mac ioreg file, agpm should show up under AMDFramebuffer and also under x86PlatformPlugin in ioreg. Without the injector kext, it will only show up in one place. Not sure how much it'd affect the system.

New DRM enabling method for systems with AMD GPU

You are using an older cpu. I am using 9th gen i7 - may be that's why I don't need unfairgva I guess. Without AGPM, the GPU uses more power, fan runs most of the time. Without it, the fan will only run when the temp is high. Ioreg will show proper device name under power management / agpm folder.
