Change name of boot partitions in Clover?

Hi. I had named my partition "Monterey", but decided to try upgrading to Ventura instead. This all worked very well! But my boot partition in Clover is still called "Monterey via preboot". How can I change this? I tried resetting NVRAM but that didn't do it. I know it is just cosmetic, but...

[SOLVED] Updated to Ventura, now my Dell runs at 30hz

Nevermind. I fixed it by changing some Radeon/LoadVBIOS arguments in Clover. Don't know exactly which of them is responsible for getting it working but it does now:-)

[SOLVED] Updated to Ventura, now my Dell runs at 30hz

Hi. Anyone knows how to solve this? I updated my Hackintosh to Ventura, and now my Dell U4021QW runs at 30hz. I can't select 60hz when I choose full 5120x2160 resolution. It is connected via DisplayPort from my Radeon RX 570.

Working ASUS X299 (Sage) Big Sur Clover config?

Thanks! I will try a little more. But at the same time I found a base EFI for OpenCore that seems to work with a few changes. Will see if it works. Will give me the hassle of migrating everything to the new Big Sur build of course.

Working ASUS X299 (Sage) Big Sur Clover config?

BTW, is it possible to update, using Apple's software updater, from a working Catalina system to Big Sur? That is what I am trying, so maybe that doesn't work? Should I do a clean install?

Working ASUS X299 (Sage) Big Sur Clover config?

Hi. Thanks, but I spent countless hours reading that thread and others to see if I can find a solution. Obviously I haven't thoroughly read all 2xx pages of it though, so I might have missed something. Anything in particular I could look at? Also both Clover, kexts, quirks etc have changed over...

Working ASUS X299 (Sage) Big Sur Clover config?

I am going crazy here. Have tried working on getting Big Sur on my hackintosh for the past few weeks with no luck. I would love to do it with Clover, since I know it is possible. But I tried a ton of things, adding quirks etc etc., nothing. The installer just goes nowhere. I also tried a fresh...

    << Solved >> i7940x sudden overheating/temp spikes

Yeah. OR switch the CPU for the i9-10940x. Officially that supports 256GB of RAM.

    << Solved >> i7940x sudden overheating/temp spikes

Yes must have been those two. OK I use Clover and don't want to experiment and go to OpenCore right now. But latest Clover have a lot of those quirks as well so maybe I could get away with sticking to Clover and NOT patching the BIOS.. :) Will try looking around a bit more and see if that is...

    << Solved >> i7940x sudden overheating/temp spikes

I have a question, I know it might not be easy to answer..:) I remember back in 2020 when I built the hackintosh, I had to patch the BIOS file of the X299 Sage mobo to get it booting at all. I just wonder if this is still necessary today? If not, I could update to latest BIOS and see if it...

    << Solved >> i7940x sudden overheating/temp spikes

Hi. I don't think this is BECAUSE I am running a hackintosh, but recently my ASUS X299 Sage + i7940x config has started doing these seemingly random CPU heat/power usage spikes out of nowhere. Tried to boil it down to some apps or something, but it has nothing to do with CPU load. I can barely...

    Security update 2021-003 Catalina

Hi. I haven't been able to find anything about this update here, which has been out for quite a while. Anyone who applied it and is it safe to do? Running Clover here.

    << Solved >> RX 570 - HDMI not working

Ha! Sorry guys for putting you through this. HDMI out works when I choose a new cable into the same monitor I use for TB input. Embarrassing... but you also got my Clover config a bit leaner and learned me something about USB as well so it wasn't all in vain. Thanks!

    << Solved >> RX 570 - HDMI not working

Right. I can see that here, but this is how it apparently looks in the new Clover, in mine it isn't quite as userfriendly so the patches aren't "translated" into what they really do. But judging by the order it looks like it's the "com.apple.driver.AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy" patch I applied that...

    << Solved >> RX 570 - HDMI not working

Hi again. I tried booting into Windows 10 and can't get the HDMI connection registered there either. So maybe it's something banal like a bad HDMI cable, although it's brand new. Will have to try a different monitor with the same cable + a new cable to the TV. Wow, never experienced that before...

    << Solved >> RX 570 - HDMI not working

Displayport to HDMI connector seems to work though... :) So although it would be cool to get HDMI working don't lose sleep over it :D Thank you so much for your help so far though!

    << Solved >> RX 570 - HDMI not working

Hmm I don't have the Vega black screen patch from what I can tell? Will try adding the boot argument and see if it helps. Also, as suggested I haven't actually tested if the HDMI port works in Windows. Will do that as well.

It's an MSI RX 570 Armor 4G OC.
