Having a couple issues with my build that I put together based on this guide in January of 2020.
First issue:
The GPU I have is a Pulse Radeon RX-580 Overclocked Dual-Fan 8GB GDDR5. Every few days or so the card runs the fans at 100% even when idling, which is very loud and annoying...
AFAIK the Designare Z390 only has a single USB 2.0 header. What is everybody using to connect 2 or more USB devices? I need to connect both the NZXT X72 fan and fenvi t919 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card to internal USB 2.0 header.
Apparently I was able to quiet the pump by configuring it using NZXT CAM software in Windows. The reason that I was not able to communicate with the X72 via liquidctl was that I didn't have the USB 2.0 cable completely seated in the X72. Shame on me!
Sorry in advance for the n00b question(s). Is the internal USB 2.0 header working "out of the box" when following the Catalina build guide? I am trying to use a command line tool to control my NZXT X72 AIO cooler, but it is not recognizing the NZXT cooler that I have installed and connected to...
I kept plodding along and eventually got into a successful Catalina install. These Geekbench scores don't look very good compared to what I see above. (Geekbench 5 scores are not comparable to those obtained from Geekbench 4)
Current known issues:
Samsung T5 USB-C external drive not working...
I followed the Catalina guide (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-gigabyte-designare-z390-thunderbolt-3-i7-9700k-amd-rx-580.267551/post-2046300) and got to "NOTE 2" of Step 2. Instead of being greeted with Catalina welcome screen, I got a reboot. Tried to boot into the Catalina drive and...
For everybody using the Sapphire Radeon RX 580, was the GPU plug and play for you? I got a new motherboard and CPU, which solved the boot cycling issue, but I have nothing showing on my screen when connected to the RX 580 through DP. I tried DP on the integrated GPU with the same results.
EDIT...
I'm not sure how the pins were before mounting the CPU. The motherboard was not factory sealed (are they ever?) but I did not knowingly buy refurbished.
I'm having trouble with the initial stages of this build before even getting to the Hackintosh part.

Ah, OK. I understand. Is this limitation/issue unique to the Designare motherboard? I’m trying to choose a motherboard for a very similar build. Thanks!
