I also get these 2 ACPI warnings and don't think that there is a connection to your Catalina problem. Because it's the apfs module, it's perhaps related to disk partitioning or the disk hardware itself. From Catalina 10.15.3 to 10.15.4 there were also some nice changes, e.g. related to the...
I guess you already checked all your EFI files and ACPI patches, at least the EC patch. I did not have this issue. Did you try with Mojave? Same issue there?
Well, I don't see your plist, but here is mine (without platforminfo). It's working fine with current Catalina and Mojave. Please note...
You are welcome! One additional note to that: I notice post errors when doing updates or using the installer. To avoid this add B0-B3. That is, "rtcfx_exclude=58-59,B0-B3,D0-DF"
Yes. The same for HP EliteDesk 800 and 600 G2. But note that this FixRTC patch breaks hibernation by reducing the available RTC memory and avoids encryption key preservation. If you get RTCMemoryFix.kext running then this would be a better solution (unfortunately no luck with HP EliteDesk...
RTCMemoryFix.kext works in Clover and OpenCore. This is the way to avoid POST errors on reboot.
Even for Clover better use this instead of the FixRTC patch, since it breaks hibernation by reducing the available RTC memory and avoiding encryption key preservation.
For this machine add...
Hi!
Anyone out there who managed to get Opencore running on HP 800/600 G2?
Got it running, but no way to fix the RTC issue. In Clover the "FixRTC" is essential to avoid these POST errors on reboot.
(RTCMemoryFix.kext might be the right way, but all I tried with rtcfx_exclude, I got always...
An advice to all who plan to keep on using their HP 800/600 G2 TWR for a while: exchange the 280W power supply with the HP original 400W and add a small RX570. You can get an used card and the power supply for less than 200 bugs, works from Sierra to Catalina nearly perfect.
Perhaps someone...
WEG 1.3.4 fixed the black screen during 10.15.1 install also at my configuration with RX570. Thanks very much! Before reading here I already started a clean install under High Sierra, loading Catalina from the App Store.
Another funny change from 10.15 to 10.15.1: I had to adapt the keyboard...
Yes, I just installed it. I am not sure if "All Thread Frequency" does hyperthreading, but everything else seems to be ok. Why do you ask?
Catalina was on over night, now running more than 11 hours, and I just use it. It seems to work with my hardware and optical drive when setting to "Prevent...
Well, I had Catalina running for several hours without issues. But I will leave it running over night and post again.
I can find only a few postings about this issue in the net. I guess it depends on the model of the optical drive and occurs not with all. What's your model?
I simply enabled "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when display is off" and disabled "Put hard disks to sleep when possible". The first point is the important. If the second is additionally needed, I still have to observe.
There is no need to unplug the optical drive as long as you can do without power saving. Since I have disabled power saving there are no reboots anymore.
By the way. I noticed also on Sierra 10.13.6 these timeouts after setPowerState calls:
2019-10-19 14:53:03.781647+0200 localhost kernel[0]...
Same issue here, leading to panic reboot: "IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType05::setPowerState(0xffffff8091f2a420 : 0xffffff7f8679918a, 1 -> 4) timed out after 100829.
The reboot occurs suddently after 15..20 minutes startup time. It occured first with Catalina, not with Sierra and Mojave.
It is...
