Question for the room. Should I be able to use Airplay to my AppleTV 4k (new) as my audio output in Ventura? It appears as an option, but nothing goes anywhere. I have permissions on AppleTV as anything on the same network. I am using PiHole proxy on my Raspberry Pi 400 for ad blocking.
I updated to 0.8.6 (right click) from 0.8.3 right after I did the 13.0.1 update. So far no issues, but I'm not a very demanding user. I don't own an iPad and I don't use WiFi. I mainly care about audio and midi, and USB has not been terribly reliable since going to Ventura.
If I actually had a burning need to ask Casey to do that, I would ask on his Golden Build thread for my mobo. It was just a "would be nice" comment. As it stands with the Apple march to ARM in progress I figure I'll have an M2 mini when they eventually start selling them. Not sure what the...
I've been sysadmin for NASA for 25 years. I spend every waking minute learning things. If I couldn't leverage the knowledge other people already have struggled to gain it would be impossible to sustain my workload. So settle down and don't make assumptions.
I wish the keeper of the golden build for my mobo here (Casey) would do a config.plist specifically for the OS (Monterey and Ventura), with none of the legacy stuff included. I'm not saying it would work any better, but I suspect it would be a lot shorter and simpler. As it is, I just use his OC...
I'm on HackinDROM 2.1.4 and my Ventura EFI is on OC 0.8.3. It indicates this is the latest version? This is booting and seems fully functional. This is my first attempt at using HackinDROM to stay up to date. I thought 0.8.5 was the latest.
This works for me every time. I always have to remember to replace it. Can you tell me if this will remain relevant as OC gets updated? And why it's needed.
I don't believe it, but here is the page. I wonder if anyone has tested the BT500? I should have ordered that first, and returned it if it didn't work.
The Amazon page says it's BT5, but I'm not sure if that is true or not. The main desc leads you to believe it's 4 not 5. Either way, at least I have no instability or issues so far.
I'd like to add again here that I have solved many issues in the past by re-flashing the same BIOS image again. Attempts at resets had failed, but a re-flash really solved a lot of issues. YMMV
For some reason I thought the OC 0.7.5 downloaded from this thread would have those enabled already. Presumably now I can use either the BT400 or the on-board. But with the BT400 plugged in and the built-in with no antenna attached, the built-in seems to be the active interface.
edit: Scratch...
Interestingly, the BT400 seems to be the same chip set as the built in. What steps are needed again to enable the built-in? Do I need a kext? At present you can't turn bluetooth on at all. I don't have the antennas installed at the moment.
I hate you... but only a teeny bit ;-)
I have my Magic pad/keyboard wired direct for now. The keyboard works like crap in Windows BTW. For example, the Cntrl key doesn't work for context menu right pad click.
