Hello! I'm trying to investigate what is producing annoying coil whine when I set higher sample rate on UAD Apollo Twin X audio interface. 48KHz works fine, but when I set higher rate in my DAW, high pitched noise is being emitted by either PSU, GPU or MB itself (or all at once).
I was thinking...
Hi, I've been using this Z390 build without any trouble for about a year already... Until I bought Apollo Twin X – I can't make TB work on my machine. I'm running Mojave 10.14.6
Apollo is connected to HS08 port and I tried this temp SSDT from Casey – to enable HS8 and HS13:
My ACPI –> patched...
OK, here is how I did it:
Bought these USB extension kits – USB 3.1
USB 3.0
Drilled additional 6mm holes:
Bought these RP-SMA Male-Female extension cables with an angled connector:
The result:
Basically you've got extra (virtual) row of function keys on Magic Keyboard or MacBook and you're able to set the default behavior either to be 'special features' keys or F1, F2, ..., F20 on Magic Keyboard (F1-F12 on MacBook) – https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204436
Works great on Mojave 10.14.6, RX 580 and ViewSonic VP3268-4K.
I wonder if it's possible to assign 'special features' keys on magic keyboard instead of F1 or F2 keys?
Wanted to ask about motherboard coil whine – my z390 Designare makes significant noise. I read setting CPU C-state may help... Does anyone have experience with that?
I built my Hackintosh using lots of knowledge from this guide (I used i9-9900K though), thanks to all involved! I've been testing 2 different system definitions: iMac 19,1 and iMac Pro 1,1.
In general, I enjoyed machine response more with the latter SMBIOS settings – it looks like CPU is...
Yep, thinking to buy it, but as I understand, I'll have to move below PCIe x8 slot as FV-T919 won't fit with an adaptor...
Also thinking about extending antenna cable — to leave FV-T919 in PCIe x1 and take off the antenna out of the case.
