    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I'm a little late to the party but I run a multi-boot system (Mojave, Sierra & Windows 10) all from one config.plist using SMBIOS 19,1. Now, I don't spend a lot of time in Sierra (it's to access FCP7 and other obsolete apps) but I have yet to experience a problem. I thought I would need multiple...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Clearing NVRAM (F11 at Clover) did not make any difference. So, sticking with "Clover bug" for now.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Casey you pointed me to the exact solution, THANK YOU! I habitually hit the space bar in Clover and select safe mode from there, per your direction I added a -x to the boot arguments under Options and it successfully booted to Safe Mode. So, at this point I'm guessing a Clover bug but a...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Thank you Casey, the only anomaly I see in Options is a truncated list of boot arguments. It does boot to Safe Mode using the Installer USB (built from your page 1 directions, so quite old now)

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Quick follow-up, I can boot into safe-mode using the Installer USB (older Clover and FakeSMC etc.) This worked as-is, no clearing of NVRAM. Just can't get there from my System's EFI (which is quite different)

I can't seem to boot to Safe Mode (-x from Clover boot), it simply boots normally into the selected OS. I hadn't tried it for a while, since last attempt I've updated Clover (5117), all current kexts, unlocked MSR and using native NVRAM, using OcQuirks/OpenRuntime, still on Mojave but moved all...

I've always been a fan of using Hackintool (under Tools) to deal with L/E kexts and rebuilding cache. Are there any (new/known) issues with that?

@mdog474 Thank you for contributing this workflow. Can you please update the above section to include hyperlink for the OcQuirks files and correct your destination for those files so it matches your pictures (which illustrate proper location)

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Your inquiries suggest you want to add additional Thunderbolt ports, not simply daisy chain. First, understand that a Thunderbolt dock will NOT create additional Thunderbolt ports. It will add other ports (USB3, DisplayPort, ethernet etc.), but at best, will only allow additional daisy chaining...

Yes, it is that simple BUT, only if you have a confirmed bootable backup that can mount the EFI partitions

Full disclosure, I am still on OcQuirks-4 (the combo of files) I'll have to work up the courage to test the newer ones

Casey's reply about testing on Mojave was in regards to using the 'optional' updated OcQuirks Rev 15 instead of the tested and verified version in the Catalina Mini-guide Install files. I certainly would NOT recommend you perform any 'testing' on your critical system. The purpose of these...

My hack system is used in a Production (editing) environment everyday. I can not emphasize enough to NOT make ANY changes to your system in the middle of a critical project, EVER. Its' generally accepted that the free 2000 developer's warning is more of a CYA statement and there have been no...
