I might have to investigate this, I don't know if anyone else has this issue? I have the BT Apple magic track-pad and keyboard, connected to a Fenvi BT/WiFi combo card. My Optimac is connected by wifi not ethernet. When I am downloading or transferring large amounts data over wi-fi, my Bluetooth...

Glad you got it sorted. You don't even need the red and black wires connected for this, just the data lines. But it def wont hurt.

Wouldn't say I'm a power user hahah. Actually I mainly listen to Vinyl/Tape etc as I prefer physical media. On the computer I sort by artist then by album. When it comes to Apple music on Catalina I would browse/scroll through my albums when I clicked one it would fill the window. Whereas in...

The core features are still there. It kind of works... It depends on what you are in to, I don't stream any music and I mainly listen to full albums. The Music app is severely lacking in features compared to iTunes. Yes I can still play a song/album but the navigating etc is really basic and...

Maybe I misunderstand what you are talking about, but updating Mojave to Catalina via the builtin software update worked fine for me. (I went back to Mojave, cause Catalina sucks without iTunes, etc., but still the update was fine)

So you got it running fine on Mojave first? This thread is for Mojave, you should get that running perfect before trying to use Catalina as you will be able to get more help. Then once that is good, its an easy update to Catalina.

Don't think you should bother with TRIM if you will be using APFS file system tho right? APFS is already designed to work optimally with SSD drives.

Hi, you tried it without TRIM right? Cause APFS is already optimized for SSD's and doesnt really need it (in many cases).

This is your problem. Use all the files and versions from this thread and it will work. You can make it work with 5xxx versions of clover but the drivers and driver locations are different. (from memory) I know cause I went through the same issues.

OK so you are able to boot to USB, format the HDD and get the installer going. But upon the first restart, it goes to the flashing white power button (similar to sleep), black screen and doesn't complete the install, correct? You are using the onboard graphics via the Display port? No other...

Sorta sounds like Clover isn't installed on your HDD correctly, if it boots from the USB, you don't need to reinstall macOS. Just boot via the USB and take a careful look how Clover is set-up on the HDD. Ensure its installed on the HDD EFI partition (make it visible using the Hackintool) and has...

If you didn't already, put a new battery in it while you are in there, I had trouble with mine until I replaced the Bios Battery.

Dell use the flashing Amber power button to denote an error. But if its flashing white that is usually a sleep indicator. Have you configured the bios exactly as suggested?

It works fine depending on what you are trying to do, you always have to have clover on the Sata (not NVME) but you also need the drivers in the clover folder as per the install instructions. I have clover on SSD which is first boot device, it it then directed to boot the OS on the NVME with...

I was able to install Catalina as is, without changing anything from this build at all. I cloned my drive to be safe, installed Clover from this thread and copied my Clover folders over, tested it booted ok, then clicked the upgrade button. But I used it for a few days and decided I didn't like...

FYI - The version of Clover specified in the OP worked just fine with Catalina for me, there is no need to update Clover. Check in the BIOS and remove any extra boot devices (OSX, etc.) should only show your Primary drive with Clover on it. Also, the newer versions of Clover have different...
