I have been using an ACPI patch I picked up in this thread for activating egpu on Z390 since Mojave up to Big Sur: SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-EGPU-NO-HOTPLUG.aml.
Sadly, it doesn't work anymore in Monterey (since beta 8). Is there an update?
Yes, that did it! In Windows, the eGPU works only when hot-plugged. Rebooting to macOS after eGPU detection in Windows works, screenshots are attached. Disconnecting and then hot-plugging doesn't work, though. Now this hackintosh is ever closer to perfection. Thanks!
I found out that the ACPI Bus of my TB3 port is RP13, and then I simply followed the rest of your guide. Upon reboot, without any device connected to the TB3 port, I noted that System Information->Hardware->PCI now showed Intel UHD Graphics 630 (Mobile), where previously it was empty. An...
Attached is my EFI with an ACPI dump. My non-Thunderbolt USB Type C port is SS04. I don't know which USB Type C port my Thunderbolt is connected to because nothing is detected in either Hackintool or IORegistryExplorer when I insert the same USB device in the Thunderbolt port.
Tried it, and as expected, didn't work. I believe the TB3 port needs an ACPI patch to enable connection to eGPU, but I have no programming knowledge or skill to do this.
@e12350, I have adopted your EFI folder and I'm quite happy with the results. Just one question: is there any way at all to get an external monitor working either through the HDMI or Thunderbolt 3 port? This is the only one remaining frustration I have with this otherwise perfect hackintosh...

Just a thought - your laptop specs may be more similar to itech's than mine - have you tried using his Clover setup, specifically his SSDT-UIAC-ALL.aml, from post #10 of this thread?
Glad to know it's all working for you, the credit belongs entirely to itech. Re your queries:
- I'm running both High Sierra and Mojave
- Geforce/DGPU will always outperform IGPU, too bad there are still no web drivers
- Currently, I'm planning on using only a USB WiFi adapter for macOS
Same issue here with the brightness key repeating when pressed. Attached is my Clover folder, pls note that my hackintosh is totally vanilla, i.e. nothing installed in L/E.
Once again, you're absolutely right, and thanks for giving me the clue. I've had someone else's Clover installer before I used yours and couldn't figure out how his installer would turn back on the keyboard backlight during boot. I copied his SSDT-UIAC-ALL.aml into my ACPI Patched folder and...
Thanks for this, but I take it that this is to control screen brightness. I assume you're still working on a fix for keyboard lighting and am looking forward to it.
By the way, your clover installer also works on Mojave 10.14.5.
My desktop PC's DGPU is Nvidia GTX 1080, which has been great for all versions of hackintosh until Apple refused to OK Nvidia web drivers for Mojave. In fact I have not yet fully figured out how to use my desktop's IGPU on Mojave. This problem got worse for me when I bought this MSI laptop...
Yes, I have done exactly as you expected, now using voodoohda in High Sierra. Am looking forward to your keyboard backlight fix to complete this laptop hackintosh.
An unexpected twist... @itech, your clover installer is in fact almost perfect. Good thing I recalled reading about Samsung EVO Plus as not being compatible with Mac. As it turns out, my SSD (MZVLB1T0HALR-00000 Samsung PM981 Polaris 1TB) is the OEM equivalent of EVO Plus. (Seems like nowadays...
