    [SUCCESS] Monterey12.1 Z97X-UD3H Haswell i7-4790K HD4600

All right. So I've made much progress. I upgraded from OC 0.77 to 0.88. I received a Fenvi T919 card and got that working as well. I mapped all my USB ports using USBMap. Till now I've been running on the internal graphics, but I just received my RX-560 GPU. Edited below to answer my own...

PCIE Adaptor for M.2 Wireless card

Well I was just kidding, based on my record of mistakes in this post.

PCIE Adaptor for M.2 Wireless card

Yes that's what I hear, and this way even I won't be able to mess up the installation, unless I plug the USB cable into the 1394 header or something...

PCIE Adaptor for M.2 Wireless card

Yes I see. Well my question ended up being useful anyway. I ended up ordering one of these: fenvi T919 PCI-E WiFi Adapter Continuity Handoff BCM94360CD WiFi Card, so no adaptor needed after all.

PCIE Adaptor for M.2 Wireless card

Thanks for the excellent suggestion, but you know my question was a stupid one, cos my board does have an m2 slot after all. I hurriedly checked in a dark room without sufficient light: (I wish this forum would allow you to delete posts sometimes.) It does seem to be the perfect device though...

PCIE Adaptor for M.2 Wireless card

I'd like to buy this card: BCM94360NG NGFF M.2 2230 WiFi Card, except my motherboard does not have any M.2 slots. is there some kind of adaptor that I could use to plug it into a PCIE slot? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    [SUCCESS] Monterey12.1 Z97X-UD3H Haswell i7-4790K HD4600

Ok, I'm just getting ready to follow the USB mapping portion of the Dortania Guide and I'm a bit confused. Here are my USB devices: In the renaming section it says, if I understand correctly, that I should rename 'XHC1' to 'SHCI', but I don't have 'XHC1', I have just 'XHC'. So do I map it...

    [SUCCESS] Monterey12.1 Z97X-UD3H Haswell i7-4790K HD4600

Ok it's going pretty good. The first thing I'd like to fix is to get a higher resolution out of my setup. I'm uisng the built in HD 4600 (2048Mb) and a Dell U3014. The max resolution I can get is 1920x1080. Any ideas?

    [SUCCESS] Monterey12.1 Z97X-UD3H Haswell i7-4790K HD4600

Thanks for the links above. I will definitely check that out. Right now however I'm unable to boot at all, with every option always saying: 'Reboot and Select proper Boot device'. I've tried every option it offers me in the BIOS, in fact I see a lot of old stale entries in there, including...

    [SUCCESS] Monterey12.1 Z97X-UD3H Haswell i7-4790K HD4600

Ok, good to know about Ventura not being stable. So is the general procedure still: Prepare install media. install. Run some post install utility (which? ) or do i just copy/update EFI partition manually.

    [SUCCESS] Monterey12.1 Z97X-UD3H Haswell i7-4790K HD4600

Thanks for the reply. I don't think you did attach any EFIs to this thread, but @sriHacPro seems to have done so. I was actually hoping to run Ventura, since that will give me a longer lifespan than Monterey before I'm forced to upgrade. Is this not a good idea for this board? I see that...

@Edhawk I'm just about to try to install ventura on this exact board. I've built Hackintoshes before but it's been a while. Since this guide is about ayear old, could you suggest how to approach this today? I'm planning on using OpenCore. Is there any way you could upload the relevant Kexts...

Z97X UD5H Black Motherboard BIOS Settings - BIOS Pictures

That's great, I will compare that carefully on next reboot. A few questions: What revision is your board (mine is rev 1.2) Do you put the machine to sleep at all? I heard that can cause problems. It's my wife's machine and she puts it to sleep every night.
