The ASMedia and VIA ports are under RP* in IOREG. Anyway, what's the advanced way to prevent USB overheating please ? My front case ports are overheating my flash drives.
Hi @UtterDisbelief ,
thank you for the answer:
I have disabled the legacy USB in BIOS and that's all i can find there. I have the latest bios installed.
If i install the FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext and do the discovery part of the guide, all my ports are showing in EH01/EH02 in PR01 and PR12...
OK since VIA and ASM should be covered by GenericUSBXHCI.kext i installed it, disabled the port limit patch but the issue still persist :/ I just dont know what else to do :/
I have also disabled "Legacy USB support" since there is no "Disable" switch on my mainboard in bios to disable EHCI...
@UtterDisbelief so should i somehow disable the VL805 and ASM1142 ? No guide is covering them :/ maybe that's the reason why my mouse is affecting audio ?
@UtterDisbelief Well i dont know how to turn it off, i have already did this guide but i have serveral questions as it still havent resolved my USB soundi nterface problem with RME Babyface :(
1. Not all my back ports were working during the discovery step :/ I was using USB 3.0 hub to discover...
Hi @nor500 .Just out of curiosity, have you installed fakepciid_xhcimux.kext ? If so i believe that this kext will connect all your HS port to EHCI maybe @UtterDisbelief can elaborate on this ?
Hi,
can someone please please help with this audio lagging problem ?
This behavior can be reproduced when i press Cmd+Shitf+4 and then moving mouse with the cross cursor. Other than that is happening on random basis.

Hi @toleda,
first of all thank you for looking into this with me i know im a noob :/
Things i've tried:
1. To use onboard audio and it works ok without this issue
2. Plugged my USB card into different USB port and it works fine!!
Obviously i have something bad about configuring my USB ports...
@tneely hi, i found that you are successfully using MSI X99A gaming 7 motherboard, may i ask if you tried to install high sierra please and whether you experienced this kind of issue ?
Oh :/ do yo have any idea what could cause such issue ? Cause without nvidia drivers this is not happening. Even after the installation if i switch to os x natve drivers it works ok :/
Hi guys,
my setup is:
MSI x99a Gaming 7
Intel 6800K
MSI GTX 1070
32GB RAM
SSD Kingston UV500 480GB
I'm having this kind of issue with nvidia drivers:
As you can see audio is working well on my external USB RME Babyface device, but when i move mouse it's doing these weird noises and stops...
Hi all,
I finally pinpointed the problem and it's Nvidia drivers. I have also recorded a video of the issue if anyone's keen to help me with that.
I found out when I reinstalled high Sierra again and tried this on OS X default drivers.
