This is because I copied Clover from my macOS Bootable USB Stick to EFI SSD manually. Clover_v2.4k_r*.pkg has to be installed at least once to see our configuration the next time. So this was the problem in my case (I've never installed it before but copied clover from usb)

I just had to check UEFI mode during clover installation (I don't why they still use legacy bios by default)

how do you update Clover? when I install from pkg, nothing changes, it's still the old version
