That's a really good opencl score. What's the date on your WhateverGreen version? I get back home the end of this week so I'll have a wait a few days to try.
Yeah. Not sure where the other poster got that number.
The barefeats graph seems about right. I get about 175k OpenCL with my Vega 64 in a hack on 10.13.3 and about 205k using Metal.
Thanks!
I have a 1000w Seasonic so not worried.
I just realized there doesn't seem to be a method High Sierra on Ryzen yet so this might have to wait. I have 10.12 running fine. Is there a way to use Vega in regular Sierra?
Gigamaxx, My Vega 64 Air arrived yesterday and I'm thinking about doing a High Sierra install this weekend. Is there anything I need to know about running Vega? Does it just work OOB?
I did a clean install last night and it was rather painless. Ended up leaving my EFI partition intact which made it even easier. Thanks for the guide shilohh, it made several steps of the process a lot easier.
I didn't. I used your original SSDT-0 without the added SAT0. Both of the SSDT-As work with RAID mode enabled.
It's worth mentioning for people who might want to run it this way, if you have RAID drives under the Intel controller you'll get a initialize disk popup when OSX loads. I use...
So it's definitely RAID mode. Loading the old SSDT-0 without the added SAT0 method sees the Intel controller without an issue. It lists as Generic AHCI Controller in System Info btw. For the time being I need those Windows raid drives so I'll need to use the SSDT method or perhaps an...
Okay, thanks. Since I'm snowed in, I might do a clean install today. I think my current install has survived multiple upgrades, something I usually avoid.
EDIT: What exactly do you mean by risky? Is this method generally considered such?
EDIT: Actually, before I do this. Could I be...
I'm running 4901.
Here's the folder. I included the DSDT and SSDT-0. I've run both together and single along with the other SSDTs for GFX, USB fix, and PM with the same result. Thanks for taking a look.
@shilohh - Just a few things that are beyond my scope.
1- Following your method(DSDT w/patches and your SSDTs) none of my Intel connected drives show up. I run OSX off the ASMEDIA Controller. System report shows no Intel controller. That SSDT shows all my drives correctly. I'll attach an...
@UNOE - Before I pull the trigger on one I'm wondering about setting the drive as the boot drive. I get what the kext does, but you're saying that putting NvmExpressDxe-64.efi in the EFI of your 950 enables bios to see it so you can set it as boot? I run multiple drives so would need it to be...
@UNOE - This is great news. I thought about picking-up one of these when they first released but didn't want to be the guinea pig. Definitely reconsidering after reading your post.
Are the KPs happening on boot or is it random? I ask because I updated to the new driver while still using MacPro6,1 and was in the OS for several hours yesterday without a KP. Updating to the newest Nvidia driver actually solved my bootloop when running dual monitors and 6,1 as well. I'm...
That's good to know. BTW, have you patched AICPM for the 3930K? Here's a good thread on how to do it. I might try updating to the new Nvidia drivers when I get home today and test with MacPro6,1.
