Hey Again! summing up about a week and a half with the machine, and it's still running great, except for one issue that started coming up - Powering up after shutting down.
If I shut down the computer and try to turn it on again (not through restart, that seems to have less/no issues), I have...
Brought In a different monitor today (The one I used until now is the T240HD, more of a TV, and I borrowed a 245b, both SAMSUNG).
At first I thought it's for sure the monitor, since the 245b looked great and responded better from the first second it was plugged in - I also could do the native...
So far different cables gave the same results... I'll try to get another display and check soon. Everything works great, and the second HDMI display input looks better than the first one, and on startup the display ratio and resolution is perfect. I double checked all the settings and compared...
Yeah well, I wanted to play it safe and get the exact model you used, and the store promised 2-7 day delivery... well, as long as it's all running. Which brings me to a small question!
As I said, it's all running great, but I'm having some issues with resolution. When I start it up, it's all...
Just an update on my hack status-
After trying this build with High Sierra and failing, and realizing with the help of the forum members that my RAM was falsely labelled, sending it back and waiting three weeks for a new set, deciding to go with Mojave anyway and re-installing the whole thing I...
I like the idea that it was defective more. At least like that I might've gotten a quick fix to all my graphics issues. I'll send them back and write Mr. Bezos a very angry email
Yes but the package and the stickers on the DIMM's themselves say something different...
I bought it from Amazon, and compared the number on the unit with the number of the product... and it was all meant to be two 16GB sticks of 3000MHz.
Aight, makes sense. Thanks for all the help! I'll post updates when It's done. Maybe this is also the reason for my other malfunctions, since I followed some other guides to solve all my other issues and nothing was solved (and I believe I was pretty thorough).
About the RAM, interesting, I'll try to get a different set and see what's up. Thanks!
About the UHD 630, I tried your settings, but unfortunately I got stuck in the same place... Whatevergreen is indeed in /L/E... (the right one this time)
I have 2 DIMMs, each 16gb, they are both showing but with incorrect value.
both of them are Ballistix sport, on the DIMMs themselves there are also stickers with the correct model and memory values.
Swapped them around, still the same.
I didn't know but apparently you can just change the...
x.m.p profile 1 is enabled...
About the graphics, I followed that spoiler and ended up stuck with the gIOCONSOLE USERS message and couldn't access my desktop. I tried it again after the kext thing you help me sort out and it was again, and I can only restart when those changes are disabled...
Ran the utility, rebooted, it's all good.
So I still have some issues then... The graphics are still not properly configured, my shutdown restarts and I have no control over the brightness (for the latter(s) I tried the fix on post#1 and also on other posts in the forum, but no luck so far)...
First of all, thanks you so much for all the help! this is really amazing. Turns out I'm an idiot and I did have an extensions folder. I just looked in the /User/Library, I didn't realise there are three different library folders. Sorry!
anyway, here it is! I already noticed theres no...
that sounds amazing! A couple of questions about that-
I'm kind of lost in the whole kext thing, how can I know which ones I need? the same ones on the usb boot drive? also, I should install them with kext beast and then run kext utility, right? and! where should I be in terms of the whole...
I managed to start from the USB as the boot drive and went directly to the Desktop, and it's all fine now. So you know the joke about the lunatics trying to escape the asylum? Turns out I don't have a Library/Extensions/ folder. Does that make sense?
