I've got a 4K LG monitor on a Radeon RX480, although no HDR. The update didn't break anything for me — works the same as it did on 10.15.3, including scaling and a little DDC-CI brightness utility. Make sure Whatevergreen is up-to-date. Then unplug the monitor cables, reset to factory settings...

Success, so far! Updated kexts, but left Clover as-is on v5100. I did get a long list of files from /private/var/root/Library which couldn't be migrated (see below for excerpt) but it appears that everything is working normally. Updated from 10.15.3.
