@Zenkey the VBIOS can be extracted from the Windows registry files, however I didn't find any way getting MacOS to load that info. I've tried supplying it as VBIOS into CLOVER but the drivers weren't loading still.
The Hardware Maintenance Manuals for these models need to come out. For P71 this is the file: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/p71_hmm_en_sp40m12029_01.pdf and it mentions the MXM (search for MXM inside it) video board.
Looking at the service manual of P72, it looks like it's video chip is soldered to the main board, so the VRAM is embedded in the main BIOS chip, the same as the P50/51 series. Maybe wait a little bit until the P53/73 line comes out and check their architecture.
Unfortunately you can only do this with P70 and P71. Looking at their service manuals, it looks like these are the only ones with an MXM video card (ie: removable/replaceable). I have a working P71 running nvidia Quadro P4000.
Note that I've tried the exact same procedure on a P50 and it...
I've reinstalled High Sierra 10.13.6, set InjectNvidia to false and installed nVidia Web Drivers (tried multiple versions using webdriver.sh, same result). NvidiaWeb and InjectSystemID are checked.
The system just hangs while trying to boot:
I can boot if i set nv_disable=1 in Clover, and...
I'm running HighSierra on a 4k ThinkPad P50 and everything works great with the built in Intel GFX.
I've enabled the "Discrete Graphics" in BIOS and I'm now trying to get the Quadro M1000M to work.
Using Inject Nvidia in Clover, OS X detects my card but I don't have any hardware acceleration...
