    pastrychef's $62 Dell OptiPlex 3050 Clunker - i3-6100 - RX 560

Would this work with a 7040M i5 with a Samsung 970 NVMe? I know I'd need to redo the audio (layout id), USB and I have a supported WiFi/BT card. Thanks in advanced. I do love these Optiplex's.

I brought a BCM94352HMB for about £23 in the UK from a UK seller so hopefully it wont be a dodgy Chinese clone. Also brought the pigtails and antenna's too. Thanks for your mounting pics, its food for thought.

[Guide] Install High Sierra or Mojave on the Dell Optiplex 7010 / 9010 Desktop PC - Revision II

trs96 said: I've just brought a dell monitor. My thinking is, in the future if I want to do another build I wont have this issue again. Also it will make VNC at 1080p less of a headache when what I've seen and read so far. Next is to retrofit a wifi/BT card.

[Guide] Install High Sierra or Mojave on the Dell Optiplex 7010 / 9010 Desktop PC - Revision II

Just a quick update. Took it to work today to try on a cheap old 1080p monitor and no issues. Even no issues on unchecked the legacy ROMs. So my monitors which can do more than 1080p are not suitable. Does anyone know where I can get the bluetooth/wifi cable from to fit in my mac? also how...

Completed step 6 but having weird graphics issues. Have you seen anything like this? Using a 4K and 2k monitor. One monitor is plugged in and when it goes funny I plug in the other one to fix it.

Yes, fresh battery (use by 2025), fresh heat sink compound as well. I've got a lot spare so I carry on investigating. When I had a quick play this morning it held its time and date.

[Guide] Install High Sierra or Mojave on the Dell Optiplex 7010 / 9010 Desktop PC - Revision II

Yes, I'm starting to wonder if it could be a monitor issue. If I boot from cold. I don't see the dell symbol, clover but then the login screen, go figure. I'm using a DP to HDMI converter. I will do some more playing tonight with a different monitor and a fresh install. Might try my 4k tv as well.

[Guide] Install High Sierra or Mojave on the Dell Optiplex 7010 / 9010 Desktop PC - Revision II

I'm trying to install it as we speak but I've noticed that: "Also leave Legacy Option ROMs unchecked if you are using built in HD4000 graphics" I get a black screen if unchecked. Checked and its installing now. Mine is the USFF version.

Well I've ordered a i3-3225 as I want to this to be as low powered as possible (energy savings). The system definition will be imac13,1 as its the best suited. UPDATE: The deal on the i3 fell through so I ended up buying the only i5-3475s on ebay UK at twice the price £45 . So I'm...

[Guide] Install High Sierra or Mojave on the Dell Optiplex 7010 / 9010 Desktop PC - Revision II

Just brought a Optiplex 7010 USFF but it came with a i5 3470S . Now finding out that the HD2500 is not supported can anyone recommend a compatible i3 or i5? It's going to be mainly a music server for alexa and for me to remote desktop in from my ipad for desktop browsing. Many thanks in advance.

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

The issue was when I updated my bios, it changed how the IGPU and DGPU was set up. I only have 2 options now. primary set to PEG and enable multiple monitors. Ran through the Hackintool again and had to re-tweak it but it's all finally working again.
