USB-C HP G5 dock with the Elitebook 830G7 (Ventura)

I am interested in using a USB-C dock with the Elitebook 830G7 (Ventura). If this is not possible, (USB mapping or some other limitation), I'd like to know now before buying a dock from eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/364637473345 https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-usb-c-g5-essential-dock...

@trs96 Grateful: Thank you for the response. I tested the link: * the installer burned successfully to the USB * installer starts up and can install OS to a second SSD What is the Ventura version of the link? 13.6.1? When reviewing a gibMacOS list: where does one go to check to ensure that...

    Intel Sunset

If the final Intel-MacOS is released in 2025, then presumably with 3 years of support, we would be at 2028 November? That's five more year of tinkering!?

    Intel Sunset

MacOS 14 (Sonoma) System Requirements indicate support for 2019 and 2020 Intel CPUs:https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213772 Is the trend for Apple to drop one model year for each major release? i.e drop 2019 Intel CPUs for MacOS 15? I realize that anything can happen and all is speculation...

Before Updating Dell BIOS: Optiplex 3090 micro i3-10105T

I would suggest that you use the Dortania Opencore guide and start by downloading the latest version of Opencore. If your cpu is CML (comet lake), then you can start here: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/config.plist/comet-lake.html You can look at config.plist and kexts...

    Sonoma compatible M.2 wifi?

Thank you for clarifying. Yes, the laptop arrived with Intel Wifi/BT and it does work, albeit without Airdrop. I replaced the Intel with Broadcom so that I would gain Airdrop functionality. I'm not going to "hold my breath", so I will have to stick with Ventura to sustain Airdrop...

    Sonoma compatible M.2 wifi?

I'd like to be able to run Sonoma in an Elitebook G7 830. It currently has M.2 Broadcom and I would like to think that if I stick with Ventura until EOL that I will be able to use Broadcom (I like OOB Airdrop). Is there a similar M.2 wifi module that works with Sonoma?

Is Intel 10th Gen iGPU compatibility the "last stop"?.

Is 10th Gen Intel iGPU (HD630/620) is the final / last iGPU found OEM Apple PCs? If it is, then when HD630 support is no more, then the craft (as we know it today with Opencore is no more? Or is there an expectation that Intel + AMD Radeon dGPU will persist somewhat beyond HD630 retirement?

    Broadcom dropped from Sonoma Beta

@Edhawk, thank you for the thoughtful reply. It would seem that sticking with Ventura for the next two years will retain airdrop functionality. As nice as it would be to run the latest, I am not ready to go from OOB to disabling SIP (OLCP). Do Broadcom models, under the AirportBrcnFixup.kext...
