I've been trying to update my ReturnOfZee (Monterey) build for a couple of days with no success. I have read many similar threads. But, am no closer to getting past the first installation stage with OC0.8.6
It always hangs and turns off graphics at the EXITBS:START point according to the log...
I was ready to let go of ¥600,000. So, I decided to purchase a Mac Studio. Then the site told me it would be September before I could even start hoping for it to ship. Since I am planning to move by that time, I had to cancel the order.
In anticipation of having a shiny Studio gracing my...
I installed Windows 10 on a new SSD. I now have Monterey on its own SSD for the same system. (I pulled it out to avoid damaging it with Windows.)
So... If I put BOTH of those back in, I am assuming that the Windows Boot Loader and my OC EFI will leave each other alone.
And, when selecting the...
I've had quite the battle with this build which was unusually resistant to installing Monterey. But, I finally got it to accept 12.2.1 using OC7.8 and thought the worst was over. It's not.
I still have two outstanding issues with the build. So, I am asking if there are any suggestions how to...
I see that the 6600XT is now supported. Some posters suggest that this support is only available to Monterey installations. Does this mean that a 6600XT simply will not work under Catalina? Or, is there a way to use the available driver in earlier OS installations?
I do see the potential for...
I have been working for several days on the plist for OC 0.7.5 while running Catalina, for the specific intention of updating directly to Monterey. A few threads I started in the Boot Loader section have helped me to finally get OC 7.5 booting into Catalina 10.15.7.
However... I am still unable...
Thanks to @Feartech , OC booting now displays my active bootables. OC completes and hands off to the OS startup. Unfortunately, the startup freezes immediately at the first apple logo screen.
I need to get back in tonight and add the -v argument to see exactly what it is stuck on. But, was...
I've been fighting with OC for a while now trying to get a 'Monterey compatible' version working.
Finally today, I get a clean boot to the picker GUI. But, there are no bootable volumes in the picker. I have three bootable volumes on this system.
1) Main Catalina SSD
2) Cloned Catalina SSD...
[EDIT:] I did nothing... But, the problem disappeared just as suddenly as it appeared. I honestly have no clue as to why.
From about three days ago, my perfectly functioning Z490 build has been displaying odd behavior upon wake.
First, it will wake the system. But, I have to hit the keyboard...
I have been reading all day. And, am following the 'New Beginner's Guide' to create a mapping for my USB Ports. I have a USBports.kext that was working well until allowing the update to 11.6.2. (I do have a fallback backup just in case.)
I am at Step 2: And, the screenshot says it all...
Two of the three extra 'EFI' options are due to other disks in the system. Another 'EFI' option has no obvious origin. disabling the SATA controller only eliminates TWO of the three entries, leaving a ghost EFI entry in the menu.
None of these EFI entries 'do' anything. So, I would like to...
When editing the build listings under my profile, clicking the save button only returns a 'Oops' and 'Security Error'. Does not save entered changes.
Not a biggie. But, would be nice to update the list.
I have loaded the latest release of IntelMausi (1.0.5) in OC/kexts.
Fresh saved snapshot of plist.
Cleared NVRAM several times.
Still cannot get IntelGbE to work. This board uses the I219 variants. But, no joy with any of the current IntelMausi kexts.
Both GbE ports are enabled in BIOS.
I seem...
Premature declaration of success on RevengeOfZee build. It didn't work out well and requires a redo.
Boot stick successfully copied installer to NVME.. (I think), which is a Samsung 970 and a known-good drive that has run Mojave and Catalina.
On reboot, I get ONE chance to select the Install...
I was trying to do something that Apple doesn't like... I went to disable SIP by the terminal and got a message saying that the command has to be executed from RECOVERY mode.
Is there a way around this? Even on my AppleActuals, this would be a major PitA.
My RevengeOfZee build currently runs Catalina 10.15.6
I decided to update to Big Sur and proceeded to perform the recommended updates of Lilu, WeG and AppleALC.
My current Clover version is 5119 with NVRAM emulation (installed by MultiBeast 12)
First of all, I am unable to update past Clover...
I have a very strong need to create a standard USB installer for High Sierra. It is for a Mac Mini that went nipples up last month due to a hard drive implosion.
I have replaced the necessary hardware. But, the recovery system absolutely refuses to install High Sierra or any other MacOS to this...
Two hacks (SonOfZee and RevengeOfZee) do not remain logged in to iCloud. Actually, it doesn't seem that any services are interrupted. But, they always force me to re-authenticate when rebooting in the morning. And, the message keeps popping up to enter my iCloud password.
Older threads indicate...
I just installed a Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX5700 XT in my MasterZee build as I intend to move forward with doing some video work with the system. It seemed everything was working perfectly. Cinebench gives an OpenGL result of 123fps which, is modest-but-acceptable as my RX580 pushed 115 on the...
After putting it off for some time, I finally felt emboldened to update all of my systems to 10.14.16
MasterZee (Using iMac 18,3)was at 10.14.3
SonOfZee and FinalZee (using MacMini 8,1) were at 10.14.4
FractalMonolith (using iMac 19,1) was at 10.14.5
(FinalZee is currently undergoing a case and...
