It will boot from the USB, but it wants to re-install everything again.
Is this what I'm gonna have to do?
It looks like all that went wrong was the fact that when it updated it went to 10.9.1 (how would I know if that's what happened?)
or
the IOPCIFamily kext was damaged (this...
I just updated Mavericks - I now think it may have went to 10.9.1.
I got the errors, then removed the following KEXTS: Voodoo, IOAudioFamily, and IOPCIFamily.
Evidently, I wasn't supposed to remove IOPCIFamily because safe mode wouldn't work after that.
I hooked up my HD to the dock...
I got the front to work but not the back.
Should I try a Universal VoodooHDA kext instead of the Realtek ALCxxx kexts that I have already tried?

After I successfully installed Mavericks, I added a few audio kexts and upon restart I received a screen full of error messages over the apple loading screen.
Do I have to do a completely new install from here or can I remove the kexts somehow without going through the whole ordeal again...
I have a Dell 435T/9000 (Intel X58) and I have been told that if I go past 10.6.4 that I'll lose the audio.
If I do, can I completely start over with a new format and boot, etc or is my motherboard screwed?
Thanks!

Well, I was told that with my Intel X58 I won't have sound after a 10.6.4 update. I use FCPX on my MacBook Pro and want to on this Hackintosh.
I'm sure there is a way to update to 10.6.8 with sound but don't know who to ask....
My computer is a Dell 435T/9000.

I have to boot in safe mode for the installation to begin but as soon as it does, this is what I get:

Does anyone know why? Is it because I have the wrong Retail Install DVD perhaps? The DVD says 13 inch MacBook Pro. I have read where some people say it can't say specifics like...
