Mac Pro 2008 Clean MATX 240mm Liquid

hello! Glad you found your answer, for future reference, the way I did it was by loosely securing the plug and then inserting the drive, tightening wherever it ended up. I did this a few times and tested whether it saw it in the bios before finalizing its position. Best of luck and don't forget...

there doesn't seem to be a shortage of them on eBay in the US. I am not sure what the numbers are outside of it. Have you tried international sellers or are you having difficulty getting one at a fair price?

oh I am very sorry, our cutouts behind the fan look very different! what version of mac pro do you have? This build was for the 3,1 where there was a large square cutout. I'm no expert, but I think you have two options. you could detach the end of your 24 pin cable and then thread it...

    Mac pro PSU repackaging

I've done the same with my mac pro mod earlier this year, running fine. As long as you do it properly and seal it, you shouldn't have any issues. good luck and happy modding!

if you are uncomfortable with removing the speaker unit, you could instead use a 120mm aio in the top fan slot or Dremel out the fan mount to allow you to slide the radiator from the side instead of the top like I have.

Mac Pro 2008 Clean MATX 240mm Liquid

believe it or not, I did nothing to the fan grill. my solution was admittedly rushed, I hadn't obtained a dremel at the time as the student shop I was working in had theirs stolen. thus I had a go with an angle grinder to have the modular power supply cutout taped inside facing the back wall. I...

Mac Pro 2008 Clean MATX 240mm Liquid

hi, thanks for the kind words. From my measurements, it became clear that in order to fit a radiator and maintain drive caddy #1 (2.5" only though thickness wasn't an issue), I would need the shortest possible 240mm radiator. this limited my options sadly but the deep cool works more than well...

    Simplest/Basic Mod guide?

Hi Dave, I completed a mac pro project recently with little to no experience. It can be a fairly comfortable experience provided you get some pre-made kits. the laser hive does ones for the panel work that only require some cutting and screwing on your part. it also depends on which mac you are...

Further progress, The broadcom wifi card arrived, hopefully means i will not need to have to add a wifi card when this machine is ready to be hackintoshed. The Vega 64 Limited Edition looks stunning in this build, almost looks like it was made for it! Installed 90% of the parts are in...

Mac Pro 2008 Clean MATX 240mm Liquid

While the WiFi card did not in fact arrive today due to shipping issues. i made some serious progress on the radiator. using a Dremel and grinder, i cut out a slot in the front of it to mount the radiator inside, low and behold it is a success, it look flush with the shroud and allows me to use...

Mac Pro 2008 Clean MATX 240mm Liquid

UPDATE - More parts arrived today, test fit the motherboard with the original gpu that came in the mac. got the connectors sorted and trimmed down the original shrouds so they still fit. Going to cut the front shroud in order to fit a 240mm radiator to the front which is something i haven't...
