No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

According to the IORegistryExplorer it looks like AppleALC is working. According to the documentation of AppleALC, there are multiple things that should be changed in your config.plist, but I tried on my system and those things doesn't work for me. (this includes getting rid of the rename HDAS...

After 10.14.4 Update, RX580 Fans Ramp Up & Down Rapidly

Since no one seem to have tried to install the actual beta, I can report that the fan issues are resolved in the latest beta. It also seems to keep the temps of my 7600K down better as well.

After 10.14.4 Update, RX580 Fans Ramp Up & Down Rapidly

So then I could just install the entire beta right?

After 10.14.4 Update, RX580 Fans Ramp Up & Down Rapidly

I went to check how my fans were set and noticed only my CPU fan was on "Smart fan mode". I set all of them to "smart fan mode" to see how things worked. Seems like they ramp up to 100 for a second upon wake from sleep, but otherwise seem quiet (update, changed the ramp up and down times to the...

After 10.14.4 Update, RX580 Fans Ramp Up & Down Rapidly

Updated without issues, just took a bit longer than usual. A while after it finished and I started using the computer a bit more, I noticed the fans on my RX580 ramp up and down very quickly and seemingly without reason from time to time. I can live with it for now, but I hope it will be fixed...

High Five | superpantoufle's PowerHack G5 (work in progress)

Hi! Thanks for your shoutouts! I have an update for you on the air deflector problem. I noticed the same thing as you did, which is that the deflector does fir, when pushing the GPU slightly down. There is a fix for this however. I haven't tried yet, but there are 90 degree cable adapters that...

    Finished! PowerHack i5 7600K GTX 1060 6GB

I have now checked with my G5. Sorry for late reply. The normal power connector with it's cables makes it very tight, but if you squeeze them down a bit and apply a bit of force when closing the air baffle, it works. This is not a good method, but good news, since that means an 90 degree adapter...

    Finished! PowerHack i5 7600K GTX 1060 6GB

Thanks! That EVGA Powerlink looks really cool and I am sure that most G5 Hackintoshers would love to have that and use the air baffle at the same time (including myself). Now, I did find a dimensions sheet on twitter for this Powerlink, and it says that from the connector, it sticks out another...

PowerHack G5 for a noob - layout questions

    • If your G5 was a dual processor, then I'd go with two front Noctua Redux fans in the original assembly to keep the aesthetics lol. It's worth noting that it's definitely not necessary and will only make more noise and cost more money. • 80mm fan is good to feed fresh air to the graphics card...

PowerHack G5 for a noob - layout questions

Hmm, so you will be using water cooling, that's nice! It was my first intention too, but I asked around quite a lot and then draw the conclusion that an air cooled system is: Cheaper than water cooling, quieter if you go on the cheaper side (the water pumps are often a lot louder than just a...

PowerHack G5 for a noob - layout questions

Hi! This build sounds pretty much exactly like my build, so I do have quite a lot of experience with this. (Also have a thread here on the site if you want to see it) Basically, the original fan assembly should be enough since I only have one rear fan for the bottom airflow zone and a front...

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

Ok, so you mean that the AppleHDAController patch is working because it says allowed in the boot log, but the audio codec still cannot be recognised by MacOS? Is there anything else I can try or is this a dead end? Maybe I'll have to go back using VoodooHDA, which kind of worked, but not...

    Finished! PowerHack i5 7600K GTX 1060 6GB

Thanks man! At first I was thinking to cut out a small hole in it to make space for the GPU cabling, but I later thought that I didn't want to do any damage to it. I think I'll leave it out until I find another one to experiment with for cheap. I have previously tried to bend acrylic, with...

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

Verified the HD Audio Controller, it was and is Enabled. Installed Kaby Lake Audio Patch. My choice was number 3, patch config.plist with No Audio Devices - X299 / 200 Series / 300 Series Patcher. Rebooted. Still no audio devices shown. New files attached. Thank you for your help so far

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

Ok, thanks. Removed previous FakePCIID kexts and installed new ones with KextBeast. (I probably don't need the intel HDMI kext but installed anyways since I haven't seen anyone on the forum only installing one of them. Is it correct that I don't need that if I'm not using the HDMI port?). After...

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

Thank you very much for your help, I totally agree that I have made a mess here, but I am learning a lot at least. I uninstalled the CloverALC and AppleALC according to the guides you linked. (I didn't remove Lilu.kext since I know it doesn't do anything by itself and I don't remember if any...

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

Thank you for your help Toleda, but there's still no audio devices. I hope that I understood what I had to do, so I removed all but one audio patch from kexts to patch in the clover config file, and a realtekALC.kext file. I still have the FakePCIID kexts, and I also left the...

No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

Ok, apparently my version of KextBeast was from 2010 and didn't ask me where I wanted to install anything. I got the new version and installed into /L/E and removed from /S/L/E. Here are my new files. Still no audio devices shown.

    Finished! PowerHack i5 7600K GTX 1060 6GB

Update! It's basically finished at this point! Hardware-wise, it is only missing the HDD which I will use as a backup drive. Here follows some images of the process: I installed the SSD in the M.2 slot of my MSi motherboard. Easy to install despite the shelf being where it is. The Intel...
