I would expect it to work like previous public beta -> final OS releases. When final is released to app store you just download and install it over top your existing beta install.

Boot with -v and see what its trying to do or where it is stuck. Make sure your usb stick is in a usb 2.0 port on the back of the mb In bios make sure that smart is enabled on your HD and you are in AHCI mode -emam

Your problem could be with the kernel caches. Boot from the USB and choose your OS X partition and set UserKernelCache=No as a boot parameter and see if that works for you. I usually boot up with this once after I load in some new extensions. I have the same board but with an ivy cpu as well...
