So I tried it, copied the PowerPlayTable from Windows, but nothing changed. Still drawing at least 33W.
I followed the instructions here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/rx-6600-xt-on-macos-zero-rpm-with-softpowerplaytable.319638/
One thing I noticed is that under Windows the RX 6900 XT consumption drops to 5W while under macOS it doesn't drop below 33W. Is there anything I can adjust to make the consumption drop under macOS?
(I also measured it with an external meter - in Windows the consumption of the whole computer...
I created a new thread for macOS Ventura and put my latest EFI there:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/ventura-on-gigabyte-z490i-aorus-ultra-rev-1-x.324974/
This is my latest EFI. Everything works. (only bluetooth needs to be restarted after waking up - as I described above https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/monterey-on-gigabyte-z490i-aorus-ultra-rev-1-x.318589/post-2304897)
I also bought the 11900K first, but the problems were many and the GPU acceleration from the CPU didn't work, so I returned it and bought the 10900K. Performance is basically the same.
I'll go back to the incident with changing the boot args and not disconnecting the cable to the LAN. If it crashed (still 12.2.1), bluetooth stopped working and nothing helped, not even shutting down the computer. Only a complete backup restore helped. I mean, I think the bluetooth stopped...
One more observation. The computer must be woken up via the power button, not the keyboard, otherwise the bluetooth will freeze. But it's possible that this is just a problem with my Apple A1016 bluetooth keyboard - it behaves strangely even on the original new original macs.
Bluetooth must work before the update, then it works after. What happened to me the first time was that I overwrote the boot args, but didn't pull the network cable. Then the system crashed and after booting, bluetooth stopped working on 12.2.1. After updating to 12.3.1, it continued not to...
So I installed 12.3.1 successfully. The procedure is as follows: First, disconnect the cable from the LAN port and connect via Wi-Fi. When connecting via LAN and adjusting what is necessary, the system crashes. Then edit NVRAM->boot args -> keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 alcid=1 e1000=0. Then update to...
I discovered the cause of all the trouble. It's the I225-LM network card. In 10.3 it changes the driver to another one and it locks it and with it the whole computer. I tried changing the Device properites PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1C,0xX)/Pci(0x0,0x0) - X=0..7 and the behavior changed but did not...
