I'm using bios F5d.
So you're using top two M.2 slots, and both Thunderbolt ports.. and you have your Radeon VII in your top 16x slot I assume? And XMP? That's my dream setup, but so far XMP cripples my macOS experience.
I did some more testing tonight and plugged my Sonnet 10GBe TB3 adapter...
I’m quite interested in your setup.. in fact I made my purchases after reading this post.
I got a Z590 Vision D + i7-11700K, and carried over my Radeon VII GPU + 64GB HyperX 3200 RAM from my prior hackintosh.
I have an OWC Thunderbolt 3 hub, plugged into the lower Thunderbolt port on the back...
Hey @soundmaster ! Sorry again for the delay in replying.. I must not have notifications turned on.
Have you sorted things out?
I had endless problems with my bluetooth+wifi but eventually got it sorted out.
Oddly enough, now I can't successfully upgrade to 11.4 and keep everything working...
Hey! Sorry for the delay - didn't see this right away.
Sure, I'm attaching my EFI. It's been working flawlessly; so much so that I ended up selling my 16-inch MacBook Pro and using this Hackintosh 100% of the time now for work. It's that reliable.
Stuck. Trying to think of any way to get back into my Hackintosh. I used SuperDuper! to make a clone of my internal HD, but like a dumb-dumb, I didn't format the drive correctly so it doesn't have an EFI, and thus I can't use it to boot from.
My thumb drive contains the healthy EFI, but only...
Thanks for the suggestion, but that hasn't seemed to help me either.
After I see the Apple logo for a moment, I get the "no access" logo, followed by this message:
OCB: StartImage failed - Aborted
Halting on critical error
I boot from the USB installer, and at the OpenCore menu I select the internal macOS system drive, but then I get the "no access" icon with (circle with line through it).
I was able to make a bootable Catalina installer on my thumb drive, and the EFI contains my original EFI folder, so I can boot from that.
However, now I'm blanking on how to copy the EFI contents from my thumb drive to my internal drive?
I can run the installer successfully, but can't figure...
@pastrychef today I attempted to update my EFI from OpenCore 0.5.8 to 0.6.5.
Unfortunately I failed and now can't boot up my Hackintosh.
On a 32GB thumb drive I have my original EFI folder on an EFI partition. However, I don't have macOS installed on that thumb drive.
I'm trying to figure...
oh awesome, that's good to hear!
I'm still using OpenCore 0.5.8, and see the latest is now 0.6.3.
It's been so long since I setup my machine, I don't remember what steps I'd need to take to update to the latest OpenCore.
Are you using 0.6.3 with Big Sur?
In post #319. I haven't made any changes to my EFI in a long time since I've been running smoothly.
macOS 10.15.7. Would like to upgrade to Big Sur, but don't have the time right now to get the Hackintosh running smoothly if it's not a simple install.
hi @pastrychef ! It's been a while. Wondered what your thoughts are around Big Sur. I've been running 10.15.7 smoothly with OC 0.5.8 for quite some time and wondered if installing Big Sur would pretty much wreck my system if I just did a simple install. I haven't looked into it much yet, but...
Agh my bad for not getting back earlier! Our city is kinda burning down right now, so have been a little distracted..
Anyway, posting my EFI here - hope it helps!
Hey man! Sorry I totally spaced on getting back to you. As for the driver, I just did a google search when running Windows and installed what I found. On this page you should find what you need.
To answer some of your questions, I don't have to reboot to Windows first, then restart macOS...
Yeah I concur. After my posting I looked closer at your first post and saw the spoilers detailing the thunberbolt flashing and determined I'm not at that level yet. If you only knew how difficult it was for me just to get my Hackintosh up and running reliably (took me months).
So if flashing...
Hey @CaseySJ I'm curious if I need to flash my TB3, and if so how to do that?
My TB3 is working, but not completely and wondering if the flash would help.
I've got an OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock plugged into the TB3 port on the back of my Gigabyte Z390 Xtreme, and my usb drives show up, but I'm...
@UtterDisbelief ! Just wanted to pop in and let you know that I got bluetooth on the Fenvi T919 working flawlessly now. A couple months ago we were trying for days (weeks) to get it working, and at the time I ended up just using an ASUS BT400 dongle as a workaround, but that was even spotty...
