I just left home for the next couple weeks, but I'll gladly share when I get home.
Your interface is powered on before booting?
What TB converter are you using? The Mini DisplayPort connections on the Alpine Ridge are not TB 2
In my system report, OS X says there are no thunderbolt drivers loaded, but everything seems to be working fine. As is expected, it has not been hot swappable, but my Clarett and the 2 profire 2626 that I slave off of it are all usable.
I seem to have everything working with my system. I haven't been able to really put it under load yet, but the Alpine Ridge seems to be playing fine with my Clarett 8preX. I have not been able to hot swap, but that was to be expected and is not a big deal for me. I also have not tried any of the...
I bit the bullet and ordered a Z370 Aorus Gaming 5, i7-8700k, and Alpine Ridge. I haven't had a chance to confirm full functionality, but I got my TB3 adapter yesterday and just had time to plug up my interface and fire up the computer a time or two. It connected to focusrite control, and I was...
I'm watching this thread. I'm trying to spec out a very similar rig (also my first build). I was thinking about the Gaming 5, Coffee Lake i7, GTX 1050, Corsair RM750x PSU, and Alpine Ridge card for TB connectivity.
Has anyone had any luck with the Alpine Ridge on Z370 mobos?
Has there been any update on running the Alpine Ridge card in Z370 mobos? I'm trying to spec a Logic Pro/Pro Tools recording rig based off the Z370 AORUS Gaming 5, but I need Thunderbolt for my interface.
I'm looking to do the same thing to run my Clarett 8preX. The Alpine Ridge has become pretty hard to come by, it seems, though it looks like they can still be had on ebay for a premium.
I'm looking at the following specs as a possible rig. Any thoughts or advise?
GIGABYTE Z370XP SLI (rev. 1.0)...
I've been researching this too. I've had a lot of difficultly finding Thunderbolt 3 support from the mobo I/O even when USB-C ports are there. It also seems as though the TB cards are becoming hard to come by.
I'm looking at one of the Z370 boards from gigabyte and I guess try to snag an...
Yeah, seems difficult to find a mobo with thunderbolt capabilities in the cards I/O anymore. I think I'll find a board that the pros here have had success with and add a TB card. Even the TB cards seem like pretty slim-pickin's.
Hey Ethand8. Have you moved forward with this build yet? I'm in the same boat and would love know how it's working out for you. My interface is Thunderbolt, so I've been looking at the ASRock Supercarrier mobo which uses the Z270 chipset and has 2 TB3 ports.
