    USB Problems after 14.4 Update?

Thanks; I was kind of thinking the same. I'll give it a few more cold boots over the next week and see if the problem persists.

    USB Problems after 14.4 Update?

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing random USB problems after doing the Sonoma 14.4 update? I completely re-mapped my USB ports last fall when Sonoma 14.0 was released and @Edhawk was kind enough to verify my new map's integrity. No problems after that until I updated to 14.4 last week. Now...

Sonoma PMSET command to Schedule Boot

This is more of a generic question than Sonoma-specific: the Terminal command "pmset" has replaced the Mac's startup/shutdown scheduling dialog in the old Energy Saver control panel (that happened back in Ventura, I think). But regardless of the method used, is or has there ever been any way to...

    macOS 14.1.1 Update

Yes, I have both Ethernet & wifi. I use AirportItlwm.kext to activate my mobo's built-in Wifi 6, and SSDT-DMAR/AppleVTd to activate its I225V ethernet ports.

    macOS 14.1.1 Update

Same here. After the 14.1 update I decided to copy an EFI with the boot arg and kext onto a USB thumbdrive just for the purpose of future updates. This time around I just booted from the thumbdrive, and Sonoma recognized & installed the incremental update. Then I booted back off my regular EFI...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

Yes, thank you, those pictures exactly match my motherboard. I did attempt to eliminate HS14 but as you note, it's still appearing in Hackintool although not highlighted in green. I wasn't sure what that signified. (SS01 is also not highlighted, though I only eliminated it from the XHCI ports...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

Success using version 0.8.0 of USBInjectAll.kext; this time around I was still able to use my wired mouse & keyboard to do the new mapping. Hackintool screengrab of result attached. Frustratingly, the USB WiFi adapter still refuses to operate on SS06, instead it switches to HS07 on that port, as...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

My screengrab shows my current state, which is still using my (possibly wonky) USBPorts.kext and with the quirk set to False. When I set out to re-map, I removed that USBPorts.kext, installed USBInjectAll.kext, and set the quirk to True. But that's when all my USB ports shut off after reboot...

    macOS 14.1 Update

There was nothing showing up in my Software Update until I installed RestrictEvents.kext and added revpatch=sbvmm in boot args (OC 0.9.5). I'm not sure why they were needed (my SMBIOS is for iMac20,2 and I don't use the Fenvi T919 fix, which is where I first read about them), but adding them...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

Yes, I followed his YouTube video and installed his driver per those instructions. It did seem to dump a few kexts in my EFI folder that his video kind of zoomed past (RtWlanU.kext and RtWlanU1827.kext). He never mentioned the need to reference them in a config.plist but I added the references...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

Thanks, I will definitely try the version 0.8.0 tomorrow & report back. My USB mapping always seemed okay enough from Monterey to Ventura & now Sonoma, though I never wrote down what was what and am always forgetting when I plug in a new device. Newer 3.x peripherals don't work in certain ports...

USB Wireless Adapters for Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma

I had to keep plugging it into different USB ports until I finally found one I'd left as dual personality (both HS & SS) in my USB port mapping. Then it finally showed up as a device, but only as HS.. which I take to mean it's operating at only USB 2 speeds. Other devices plugged into that same...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

I'm currently on Sonoma 14.0 and am trying to re-map my USB drives, originally done back in Monterey, because of a possible mis-map I made back then. I've removed that USBPorts.kext from my EFI folder (OC 0.9.5) and its reference from my config.plist. Then I followed the guide of @UtterDisbelief...

USB Wireless Adapters for Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma

Just tried it with an Archer T3U Plus.. and no, Airdrop doesn't work. Neither does Find My Mac. Both say there's no WiFi installed.

Fenvi T919 and Broadcom wifi back in Sonoma with OCLP

Thanks again to everyone on here for their help & advice on the Fenvi fix. After getting it to work, though, I've ultimately retrenched back to my previous EFI (OC 0.9.5, but without all the mods for Fenvi) because: 1) I wasn't feeling real comfortable with SIP disabled, and 2) As mentioned...

    ProperTree laggy in Sonoma

If anyone else is using ProperTree to edit OpenCore config.plist like I do: since updating to Sonoma have you experienced a noticeable lag in response while editing? Tilt-down sections initially respond but then stop for additional edits, and likewise, text edits in fields all seem to hesitate...

Fenvi T919 and Broadcom wifi back in Sonoma with OCLP

Update: turns out it doesn't matter if I use AMFIPass.kext/-amfipassbeta or just the amfi=0x80 boot arg, either way my LEDs & Fans stay on after shutdown. Everything else works fine with the Fenvi fix. My problem is possibly unique to my Maximus XIII mobo. There's software on the Windows side...

Fenvi T919 and Broadcom wifi back in Sonoma with OCLP

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that tonight. I'm currently using AMFIPass.kext (v. 1.3.1) and -amfipassbeta boot arg. Just using amfi=0x80 restored my wifi but prevented various 3rd-party apps from opening (see my Post # 121). To fix that back then I don't think I actually shut down, to...
