I would go with a new MacBook if you're used to a macbook. The current state of hackintoshing new laptops isn't great. I think mostly due to RehabMan no longer being here.

RehabMan has not been on these forums for about a year now. Are you using whatevergreen kext? That alone should fix your igpu without using any patches. You're looking at an old outdated guide.

I gave it a shot but for opencore you need alot of time to set it up initially, since then I haven't had access to a mac because my old hackintosh laptop was stolen out of my car. I was hoping others would be able to do it but have not seen any builds on here or on r/hackintosh surprisingly.

No, they have parts of a wifi/Bluetooth assembly but not the whole thing. Most laptops including the new MacBook air still use fully dedicated wifi cards.

You have to use the latest version of opencore that isn't released yet so you have to compile it from github. I gave it a shot but open core requires a crazy amount of time to learn and set up initially that I don't have right now. So I'm waiting also.

Yeah can run catalina on it, just follow a guide that uses the same processor as yours and then search how to fix the audio/touchpad for your specific model.

Clover doesn't have the correct memory map fix to run on most comet lakes and all ice lakes. I'm guessing it'll get implemented soon though. I'm gonna wait for someone with comet lake to upload their EFI on OC and base mine off that. Seems like clover is gonna get phased out soon. Or at the...

Have you looked at the OC efi from about 10 pages back that worked on some comet lake models? I was trying to use that but insert the changes from oc 0.5.7. It might have the kexts/drivers to make it work for you. Your gpu is a hd630?

Yeah my issue was I compiled the latest version(unreleased) of opencore and mixed and matched that with a laptop opencore build(older version) from someone else. I'm going to try again but go from the opencore compiled build and manually delete/add every kext and do the config plist from scratch.

Damn opencore is more annoying to set up than I thought. I got ahold of a macbook air to use for a couple hours and half assed an EFI for opencore but it's pretty picky and you gotta do the work manually. Had to give the macbook back and didn't have time to do that. Will try to get ahold of that...

There's no patch right now, it either works with a fake cpuid or it doesn't. This could change when apple officially releases 10.15.4.

I'm gonna give it a shot this Tuesday/Wednesday when hopefully the final version of 15.4 is released, they've had 5 betas now.

In case you already didn't, you should replace the config file with the same file but change to a random serial number so someone doesn't use yours.
