Are you on lion, you will get better boot performance if you use the migration tool in multibeast and have all extensions in /System/Library/Extensions/ Figured this out after some light reading in the forums, was the cause of a few o ther issues for me as well.

Updated to 10.7.3 successfully, Think the prob with the previous efforts panicking was due to me not running mkext migration after snow leopard upgrade. I had to reinstall my 10.7.2 GTX 590 drivers as all the versions I found on another Kext site caused serious fps issues and OpenCL Galaxies...

I am using just a single display and correct only 1 GPU is being used as far as I am aware. Need to enable SLi like they did with the GTX295

Added in Device Id to GF100 KEXT :) download patched OpenGL / OpenCL kexts and performance is amazing. :)

Guess from the lack of response my dream of enabling dual gpu are dead for now. Sure I read ages ago that the 295 was made to work fully.

580 and 590 do fully work in 10.7.2, I am pretty sure you can have multiple cards in and use only one.

Pretty sure the 4,1 and 5,1 use ECC Fully Buffered Memory, therefore you need to remove AppleTyMCEDriver.Kext to stop the Kernel Panics.

Anyone else in this forum with a GTX 590.? Anyone with any tips or info to research to enable dual GPU cards.

Update: replace GefoceGLDriver with a Patched OpenCL one from Kexts for 10.7.2 as my OpenCL was not woking so LUX Render did not run now that runs and have better FPS 42 :) Anyone have there LUX Render results to hand as my GPU GTX 590 only showing 64 Compute units should this not be 512...

MacPro 4,1 and 5,1 will work on SB Cpus as long as you remove AppleTyMCEDriver.Kext (for EEC Ram)
