    macOS 13.6.6 Update

Another smooth update, ~20 minutes and 4 reboots IIRC. Something I haven't seen before with these updates is that the first 6-7 minutes was constant scrolling of verbose messages with a lot of NVRAM writing; I'm used to staring at an Apple logo and progress bar. I'm either overconfident or...

    macOS 13.6.4 Update

Re: Ventura 13.6.5-Another smooth, unexciting update in 20 minutes with several reboots. Didn't update OC or any kexts.

    macOS 13.6.3 Update

Easy 20 minute update (OC 0.94)

    macOS 13.6 Update

Another boring, unexciting update...OC 0.9.4 with no kext changes. I do not miss those early hackintosh days when every update was an adventure.

    macOS 11.6 Update

Finally began working on upgrading OC 6.4 to OC 7.3 when this update dropped. No issues, 3 reboots and 35 minutes later with existing OC 6.4 configuration and kexts.

    macOS 11.5.1 Update

No issues with updated Lilu, AppleALC and WhateverGreen and OC .64 (...too lazy to track/update config changes with each release of OC). Three reboots and about 30 minutes.

macOS 11.0 Big Sur is Now Available on the Mac App Store

Smooth 29 minute upgrade from Catalina/OC .63 on my test system this morning after Apple resolved most of its issues (e.g. some app upgrades to Catalina failed this morning as they only apply to Big Sur.) Being cautious/prudent, I'll wait until next supplemental before making it a production system.

    Feeling pleased.

I'm also surprised - confirmation of that old New Yorker cartoon: "On the Internet, no one knows you are a dog." On hackintosh boards, no one knows you are an old geezer.

    Feeling pleased.

Good on you, Gothic! Another Fossil club member about to enter his 8th decade here. Shut down the university's IBM360 in the late '60's and hacked it to get 60 seconds of CPU time on a 5 second job card; patched my Apple II OS to improve it in the late 70's - hey, they gave you an assembly...

Possible to Big Sur Public Beta on Catalina Installation?

Simple answer: Yes. That is what I did. BUT it is beta software and, as brainstormer said, there are and will be bugs. Only do this as I did on a separate, non-essential SSD/HDD. With the latest OC and kexts, it went smoothly for me. The download is very large and installation took about...

macOS 11.0 Big Sur Public Beta is Now Available

Success...but an eventful journey to get there.... Installing the BigSur beta wasn't in my plans. But it was clear that using the OpenCore bootloader would be needed when the time came to install it. So getting OC to work on a spare disk was the project. I suppose...

    macOS 10.15.4 Supplemental Update

Successful supplemental update with no issues/no changes to Clover or kexts.

    macOS 10.15.4 Update

After the requisite Clover and kext updates, an uneventful 20 minute upgrade with one unusual behavior afterwards: Time Machine decided it needed to backup all 600GB of my data folders. Not happy about the unnecessary backup disk usage but otherwise everything is good.

    macOS 10.15.2 Update

Easy, fast and problem-free. CCC backup, update kexts, two seamless reboots and 17 minutes later all is good.

    First Hackintosh-Advice/Suggestions

I plan to document my build on tonymac86 but, having just returned from Europe and about to leave for the holidays, realistically it won't happen until shortly after New Year's. Briefly, with some changes (see below) and a variety of 'interesting' experiences along the way, my build using High...

    AE_NOT_FOUND, 8 table load failures.

Thanks, TRGB. I've been trying different things and concluded that reviewing the plist was my next learning experience. Every time I use Clover Configurator to customize the system, I would have issues and would have to restore the prior, known-to-work clover.plist.

    AE_NOT_FOUND, 8 table load failures.

I second duppyy07's reply although I didn't need to set the GraphicsEnabler option. I could install High Sierra successfully, then run Multibeast but rebooting immediately failed with the table load failure. At that point, I couldn't boot the system again even with the USB OSX Install drive...

    First Hackintosh-Advice/Suggestions

With Apple not updating the MacMini, I've becoming tired of looking at progress bars and spinning beach balls and decided to build a Hackintosh. Thanks to all the contributors on tonymacx86.com, I'm confident that this first build will be successful. I would appreciate any advice prior to...
