    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

Without a proper SSDT for Thunderbolt, sleep can't work if you have devices connected. Give it one last try with KGP's SSDT, I used it for a long time with the Alpine Ridge years ago. Device Properties has a purely cosmetic function, only those concerning the audio are necessary to inject the...

[In progress] SSDT for Thunderbolt 3 Hotplug

You must give permissions in: Security and Privacy on System Preferences. If you don't find the prompt you need to uninstall and reinstall the driver. See Antelope support.

[In progress] SSDT for Thunderbolt 3 Hotplug

This is not important, it is only cosmetic. Try this SSDT with an NVRAM reset. Did you clear CMOS of the BIOS after replacing the CPU?

[In progress] SSDT for Thunderbolt 3 Hotplug

@MacWintosh64 ok, send me your IOReg without the TB SSDT. I try to make a custom one. Only one question, without SSDT and device connected an turned on at boot, your device is recognized?

[In progress] SSDT for Thunderbolt 3 Hotplug

The TB SSD you are using is wrong. If the card is not detected, the problem is something else. Does your Thunderbolt card have the THB_C connector connected to the motherboard? What version is it exactly? Titan Ridge or Alpine Ridge? With one or two TB ports?

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

Hi @gabevf, I checked your EFI and removed all patches and SSDTs that are not needed and enabled some essential quirks. Sleep should now work. I have enabled ResizeAppleGpuBars, remember to enable it on the BIOS as well. Remember to perform an NVRAM reset on startup (Press the spacebar at the OC...

[In progress] SSDT for Thunderbolt 3 Hotplug

I checked and noticed that it is one of my old experimental SSDT to force hotplug. In fact this happens because I have inserted the "PCI-Thunderbolt One" DSM Method on DSB1 which conflicts with the DSM Methods present upstream. Use this attached, and if your devices are usually turned off...

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

I believe there are some configuration problems in your EFI folder. If you upload your EFI and Ioreg I try to check as soon as I have a moment. What MacOS version do you use? Which BIOS version? Which OC version?

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

Now I no longer use the Gigabyte X299X Designare, however: I was using the latest BIOS F3j with MacOS Catalina. I don't know if there are any problems with the latest versions of Big Sur with the F3c BIOS, but I don't think so. It is not relevant. My EFI has Resizable-BAR enabled, so you have...

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

Oh ok, so Big Sur still doesn't work with the latest BIOS of this card. My latest EFI should work perfectly with Big Sur, in fact now I am using it with the latest available version 11.6.3. The only change required is in UEFI > APFS: MinDate and MinVersion set to "0" (Zero).

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

I have tried all BIOS released for this card and rest assured they all work. If it does not boot anymore, probably something went wrong during the update process, try again and check on info if the installed BIOS version is the correct one. Also check that you haven't forgotten any settings.

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

Sorry, I thought Designare EX had Titan Ridge as a controller. However I understand what the problem is. The SSDT you are using is made to enable Thunderbolt BUS, which is theoretically possible on the Alpine Ridge, but does not work on Gigabyte motherboards because it requires the "GPIO3 Force...

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

@gabevf, more information is needed: - Is the Thunderbolt-related path renamed correctly on Ioreg? - Does KP take place with or without connected devices? - Without SSDT, do the devices connected and turned on at boot work? Devices that connect at startup, such as a Dock for example, need the...

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

If the Thunderbolt connection is not working it is due to a wrong setting on the BIOS or the wrong SSDT.

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

@BerndVP I stayed on macOS Catalina, I have not tried to update for known compatibility issues. To find out if Big Sur is supported by the latest BIOS, someone who has version F3c and MacOS 11 would need to update the BIOS to version F3i. If it does not work then it is always possible to go back...

X299X Designare 10G - OC 0.7.6 (RELEASE) EFI folder Summary: This EFI has been adapted and customized for my system which has a Broadcom WI-FI/Bt PCIe card and an RX5700 XT. The Config.plist was built from scratch starting from the sample.plist of the latest OC version to avoid possible...

    X299 Big Sur Support

Hi, I have lost patience with the bugged Gigabyte X299X and I want to change, does anyone have experience with the Asus Prime X299 edition 30? Works well? Thunderbolt work? The overclocking performance? Alternatively, what is the best option? Basically I need the Thunderbolt connection and very...

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

When I have a moment I add my updated EFI folder. Anyone with Big Sur have tested the latest BIOS versions? And… Positive overclocking experiences with the Gigabyte X299X?

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

@BerndVP Updated yesterday, with MacOS Catlina it works, but no improvement on overclocking stability. OC 0.7.6 Do you have Big Sur? Have you tested it with the F3i BIOS?
