hello I already have macOS sierra installed on one of my hard drives. since I have more room I was wondering could I just add windows to the hard drive as well. iv read up a little but mostly people who have dual boot set it up in the beginning and I all ready have my mackintosh up and running...
what would I do to patch a different codec? (the one you provided me)
sorry I used the applhda patcher so I kinda skipped the whole manual codec patching learning.
how would I look at the codecommander logs?
and so you are saying if it is a EAPD problem (most likely I think too) then I will need to create a custom ssdt for myself for ALC892 and load it from my ACPI/Patched folder?
wait one second this is .. dang.. so I restarted my laptop and what do you know? the sound doesn't work...
I literally changed nothing...

what do you mean? like a different version? how would I know which version I need? I have the latest native one that came with 12.6
.
also it is worth noting that my microphone is working . I can see the meter move when I talk into it on systempreferences/sound.
.
also I read somewhere that...
really? wow. but now that I think about it I guess it should work? here is why. when I turn on my computer there is a pop from my laptops speakers. so something must work for it to access the ability to pop my speakers right?
and really just no audio. I have the little audio icon on the top bar...

please help. I tried to patch my sound with applehda patcher tool and it did not work :/
history : I tried patching it before and I don't think it worked then I undid everything I did and installed voodoohda but then voodoo didn't work. but then after my laptop died, the next day when I rebooted...
