    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

Hello! How's everyone doing? I've had a problem for quite a while and decided to ask here. Maybe someone's been through the same and can provide help... Every time I restart my macOS (I'm on Big Sur 11.6.4 and OpenCore 0.7.0), it's like rolling the dice. Security & Privacy settings like...

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

@CaseySJ I just came back from the store. It's working! I was just robbed, sorry I meant just purchased the RX550 for 30% more than what I paid for the RX580 in 2019. Both stores I called were amazed that the RX580 was dead in such a short time being that I don't play games nor do I use it for...

Thank you, @CaseySJ I was reading dortanias guide and saw that. My only concern should be to avoid the Lexa core. Hopefully it'll be baffin core!

@Stork @CaseySJ @Feartech I found a store nearby that has the RX550 in stock. Do you think I'd need to change anything in config.plist for that one to work? I guess my only concern would be the framebuffer since the RX580 is 256bits and the RX550 is 128. I'm heading there in less than 2 hours...

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

It’s showing Intel UHD Graphics 630 31 MB even though I set dtvm to 128 and everything is slow and has some glitches. Is there a way to have macOS understand it has 128mb? sorry for all these questions, but research is complicated in my current situation. I appreciate your help.

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

@CaseySJ thank you very much, changing the entry allowed me to boot up through the USB drive. Do you know what I need to change in order to use the HDMI as well? I use two monitors. Thanks again.

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

@Feartech I did set it to 64MB and reset the nvram prior to selecting the OS, but I'll do it again. @CaseySJ thank you for rechecking that. I was trying it with both ports but never DP alone. I always tried with DP+HDMI or HDMI only. I'm going to try with DP only now. I didn't change my...

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

Do you guys think that if I buy the RX570 it would just work again or you think there's something else that might've happened? Thanks

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

@CaseySJ I will try that later today, but could all of that have happened just because the video card was damaged? I'm just trying to understand the suggestions, given everything should be working (apart from the late video card). I'm extremely saddened by this situation... less than 3 years of...

Not even the usb is booting, I’m assuming it’s because of the config file that was prepared for my rx580. I’m looking into changing that

Hi everyone! Folks, I just ran into an issue here, a pretty sad one... my RX580 just died. I've got no idea why, I don't play games nor do I use the computer for any type of graphic intensive work. I'm lost here. The thing is, my mac got stuck in a grey screen this morning and I rebooted. After...

That's good to know. Although, unless I really have to, I'll stick to 11.5.2, this thing is running extremely stable :) Reminds me of the HS and Mojave good old days :D

Hello! Sorry if I'm flooding here... I just thought this might interest you. As I've mentioned I got the SN850 to replace my 970Pro as my main drive. Even though our MB is PCI3.0 and the SN850 is PCI4.0, I noticed very decent gains in write performance. Read speed is very much the same (I didn't...

Hy everyone, just sharing a new update. I got the new WD SN850 Black and instead of just migrating everything using CCC I decided to do a fresh install. It was flawless... I created the media using 11.5.2, unplugged all other drives, installed, migrated my data using migration assistant and that...

@beatnaph as you're probably finding out by yourself, this is a rather tedious job that requires your full attention. The most likely answer here, is that you missed something. It happened to me as well, a few times... I'd recommend you start over and go through each step thoroughly.
