GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

I'd like to share a little workaround to fix the glitches for a short period. Since changing the refresh rate will temporarily fix the glitching, one can change the refresh rate and set it back again. I'm using cscreen to automate this tedious process. I packaged it into a rudimentary App and...

    HD3000 Artifacts: What's the solution?

They did return immediately after booting live Linux. They vanished again after repeating the reset procedure.

    HD3000 Artifacts: What's the solution?

EC reset worked so far on Dell Vostro 3750 with switched off NVIDIA GPU (NVIDIA Optimus) running 10.11.4. If I remember, I will report back when the glitches return. Thanks a lot!

[Guide] How to patch DSDT for working battery status

How to patch DSDT for working battery status The dsdt-patch 'battery_Dell-Inspiron-13z.txt' also works for the Dell Vostro 3750. Thanks!

[SOLVED] Disabling discrete NVIDIA GPU in Optimus

I upgraded my ram and flashed to the newest Bios Rev. I think "rev.A" or something. Anyways, i extracted the new DSDT and redid all the fixes. And maybe it's just my imagination, but it feels a lot more stable and less 'artefacty' when i use GraphicsEnabler=Yes. The NvidiaPatching will fail...

[SOLVED] Disabling discrete NVIDIA GPU in Optimus

i didn't compile in a while, but i kind of think that this means something is gravely wrong in the syntax of the DSL. If i remember correctly it just fails without telling, thus returning nothing. I'd suggest doing it over and pay attention to the scope into which you're pasting the method...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

Waking up isn't working for me either. This is AFAIK one of the hardest things to accomplish in general. The little Optimushack even disables the ability to hot reboot the notebook. And this powering of one device. I really don't want to get into powering off ALL of them and then powering them...

HD 3000 - apparent hang in main graphics engine

hello, i'm having this issue on a notebook. this issue rather seems to occur far less on 10.7.1, but it still does blow up the whole graphics engine from time to time. have there been any new developments? /edit seek and you shall find. http://revogirl.wordpress.com/2012/01/2 ... vram-size/...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

ahh yeah i think i needed a specific pin config entered in the dsdt for the AppleHDA to work. But for some reason this doesn't work for the newest version of chameleon anymore and it'll just hang on boot while loading this AppleHDA so for now i just changed it to VoodooHDA. i think it needed a...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

yeah there really is nothing more to it. remove all the enabler and voodoo stuff, i guess. then just replace the original in /s/l/e. and yeah a DSDT patch is needed. but with the right DSDT you can get a lot to work without patching kexts, so i would highly recommend making one.

How to prevent Parallels 7 from breaking kernel cache

Hi, this is a fairly small and easy issue to fix. i'm mentioning this since it seems macinsane (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=25427&view=next) had trouble finding it. so afaik the UseKernelCache option only works if every kext is located in /S/L/E and nowhere else. (so no more /E/E.) parallels 7...

[SOLVED] Disabling discrete NVIDIA GPU in Optimus

Ok, first i have to give credit to DoiX (http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.p ... entry16794) from who i got the final hints from. you will need a dsdt to do this. my steps were these: Extract your SSDTs (via some livelinux and acpidump or so)[/*:m:24pg6v6z] Open them in a DSDT-Editor...

[SOLVED] Disabling discrete NVIDIA GPU in Optimus

Re: Disabling discrete NVIDIA GPU in Optimus Okay, that wasn't that hard. just copy and paste the right things to the right place and call it at the right time and voila, no more wasteful geforce. it's still a little crude about shutting down the system and stuff. but at least it shows '2:40...

[SOLVED] Disabling discrete NVIDIA GPU in Optimus

Hello, since the the HD3000 chips do work pretty much OOB in 10.7 it's no real handicap to ignore one's powerful discrete GPU for OSX. But one major downside is the vast amount of precious battery power being wasted by the turned on, but unusable NVIDIA GPU in an optimus setup. i have been...

    Kernelcache Issue [SOLVED]

Re: Kernelcache Issue Soo.. i kind of fixed it. the implementation of generating the P/C-states seems to be working a tad better on the newest chameleon. to summarize: i upgraded to 1817 of chameleon, migrated everything into /S/L/E, dropped the SSDTs, generated the C/P-States and added...

    Kernelcache Issue [SOLVED]

Hello, i successfully activated the kernelcache and sped up the boot a tad. i did this by migrating all my kexts from /E/E to /S/L/E. Unfortunately this seems to break the p-state pickup by the system, slowing down the cpu by 600 mhz. migrating the kexts from /e/e seems to change the order in...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

soooo.. i reverted back to 10.7.1. it seems to me that it's rather the implementation of mission control, which triggers the bug more often in 10.7.2+ and not the kexts themselves. i researched a lot regarding these graphic hangs, but nothing worked so far. so i will stay on 10.7.1 since it's...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

ahh.. ****. my safari just crashed on me while uploading the kexts :banghead: so 10.7.3 seems to be out, i will run a backup and try if it finally fixes the graphics issues :beachball: we're experiencing. yeah mines a intel centrino, so there's no chance at all getting it to work. i'm just...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

I think you should try patching the AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement with speedstepper. Like i said in my configuration the P-States are picked up OOB and it seems it's the highest perfomance you can get (compared to the GB-Score of a MacBookPro 8,2). You could try checking with MSRDumper.kext...
