Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

In a correctly configured setup (and in standard macs), iGPU does indeed not appear in luxmark: it shall be configured as connectorless and is then used for video encoding/decoding acceleration, while the 560 is used for opencl acceleration. If iGPU appears in Luxmark, then some apps such as...

Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 on macOS

You should enable iGPU and use Shiki for this. Not sure Vega can wake properly if you disable iGPU. And with it, you would have hw accelerated video in Safari and iTunes.

Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 on macOS

You could try this one (changed some kexts and config.plist) Vega has to be prime in Bios (PCIe1 surely), and iGPU activated with 64M memory min.

Can you attach you EFI? Sleep works fine for me.

High Sierra - RX Vega & Final Cut h.264 fix

Well, it is quite off-topic, but if you attach your EFI folder, I can have a look. Our setups are quite alike, it should work the same.

High Sierra - RX Vega & Final Cut h.264 fix

It seems acceleration works now ok in 10.13.2 beta 0. I had even +10-15% opencl performance boot for my Vega 64. Still, sleep/wake does not work anymore, and fan spins very fast to keep the GPU cool, and is then quite loud... reverted to 10.13.1.

    Post macOS/OS X Geekbench Benchmarks

Nice 15% opencl performance increase with Vega in 10.13.2 beta 0 (https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/compute/1325116 -> https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/compute/1326514), but fan spin fast and loud, and Lilu panics now, so no Whatevergreen, and hazardous sleep/wake.

Because hardware acceleration is deactivated? Does not work for me with hardware acceleration activated.

High Sierra - RX Vega & Final Cut h.264 fix

Great, thanks. It would confirm h264 encoding does not use the discrete GPU, and the fix is then only useful to CPUs without integrated GPU. Concerning the CPU usage, it seems quite normal, as hyperthreading only brings around 10% performance increase. I presume FCPX splits the task in 6 rather...

High Sierra - RX Vega & Final Cut h.264 fix

I am quite interested in the influence of your fix on the encoding perfomance. From my understanding, h264 export acceleration in FCPX is only possible with Intel Quicksync, and not with AMD nor NVidia cards. I really wonder whether your fix and configuration proves otherwise. If you need some...

High Sierra - RX Vega & Final Cut h.264 fix

Unfortunately, beginning with 10.13.1 beta 5, I get the forbidden sign with 19,1. It seems you will need to find another fix. Concerning h264 export, can you please tell if you get h264 encoding hardware acceleration through your RX 480, or is it pure CPU (what are your CPU and GPU usage while...

High Sierra - RX Vega & Final Cut h.264 fix

You would have a nice "AMD Radeon Vega 64" with Whatevergreen, but it does not seem to bring any functional or performance gain.

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

You can if you activate your iGPU. H264 exports will be done through quicksync while opencl acceleration will be done through your Vega

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Installed a Gigabyte RX 560 gaming OC 2GB on 10.13. It works fine with Lilu & Whatevergreen. Geekbench opencl at 81000, BruceX at 27sec, no black screen while booting.

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Whatevergreen will change the name and might improve the ports support. You need whatevergreen and lilu kexts to be put in Clover/kext/other, and to remove all ati graphics injection and specific configuration

R9 270x is the same as Radeon 7870, which is a hd7xxx serie This is completely fine ! You can also use whatevergreen.kext without injecting ati. You then gain sleep/wake features.
